Not sure how to join Mastodon, or what to do once you have? Have a look at github.com/joyeusenoelle/Gui… I've only been there a few days, but I'm already having a lot of fun.

Based on initial analysis I believe Tor is indeed affected. This bug is not as horrible as initially feared (it's been downgraded from "CRITICAL" to "HIGH"), but still, *everybody who is running with OpenSSL 3 would upgrade.* Tor Browser packages use 1.1, and so aren't affected.

🟡 Upcoming OpenSSL 3 security bugfix release Tor relay operators: if you are running OpenSSL 3 please be aware that you might need to upgrade it to 3.0.7 on next Tuesday (Nov 1). Operators running OpenSSL on the 1.1 series are fine as far as we know. forum.torproject.net/t/tor-r…

Thank you Representative Pressley, we appreciate you standing up for grad workers fighting for basic rights and protections at MIT!

.@MIT is a world class institution with an endowment of over $27 billion, yet its grad students are paying 55% of their stipend on rent & don't even have dental insurance. Organized power is realized power & I stand in solidarity with @MITGradUnion.

This is the same company that wants you to believe you can trust them to scan all your photos for contraband. This is the level of concern for individual privacy and dignity Apple has.

I asked them over & over to let me delete those texts / pics I told them having to share them w/ my employer was a horrific violation of my privacy They told me that my employment contract requires I participate fully in any investigations Send nudes or get fired? #Apple
