We just raised $400,000 in pre-seed funding from @join_ef , Emergent Ventures along with angels and advisors including Jay Kim, @srajagopalan , @lmthang.
@b1shtream and I are building @cogworksai and our goal is to Accelerate Scientific Discovery using Autonomous labs.
We’re starting by building the integration layer between AI agents and laboratory equipment.
Last year, Dhruv @furst_fly reached out after the application deadline and asked us to reopen the form. He almost missed GStar Bootcamp’s very first cohort.
Twelve months later, he finished 4th in the entire cohort. About six months after that, the project he built with his GStar teammates became a startup and secured $350,000 in funding.
We’re especially grateful that Dhruv took a chance on us when GStar Bootcamp was still brand new and that he’s stayed close ever since.

Excited to share my very first article on AI policy & scientific discovery! 🧬🔬 At @GoogleDeepMind, we are building powerful "conjecture machines"—agentic AI that generates ideas at scale. But as AI accelerates, we face a critical new challenge: the Validation Bottleneck. 🧵👇
Ideas are becoming abundant, but testing them in the physical world remains slow and costly. For policymakers, funders, and researchers to truly unlock superhuman scientific discovery, we must understand and address this growing gap between generation and verification.
These thoughts build upon our works in AI for Math over the past years—from neuro-symbolic systems such as AlphaGeometry and AlphaProof, to thinking models such as Gemini Deep Think, and most recently Aletheia. My belief is advancements in AI technology for addressing the verification problems in maths will give great insights for other fields! 📐💡🔍

It really feels like yesterday. Back then, we were meeting everyone for the first time. Weeks later, the names on our Zoom screens became project teammates and familiar faces in more conversations.

Twenty years after arriving at NUS as a young student, Dr. @lmthang returned to the School of Computing as the first Vietnamese commencement speaker.
Between those two moments, his journey did not go the way he first expected.
He once hoped to reach the Mathematics Olympiad. When that path ended earlier than planned, he turned to computer science. What followed was years of research on problems that often seemed far from being solved.
Today, the AI research he leads has helped machines reach gold-medal performance at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
Speaking to @NUSingapore graduates, Dr. Thang Luong reflected on what carried him through the years before those results: learning the fundamentals well, staying with difficult problems, and remembering the people behind the technology we build.
These lessons still shape how he thinks young engineers should learn and work in the age of AI.

Last year, Dr. Thang Luong put part of the idea into practice by starting GStar Bootcamp.
GStar is a 12-week accelerator for engineers who already have strong technical foundations and want to go deeper into building AI systems.
Its first cohort received 269 applications from 15 countries, with 17.8% of applicants admitted. @JeffDean, @chrmanning and @preslav_nakov joined the program as advisors.
