After additional dismantling of the system, how will we rebuild and what will be the new normal?

Many years ago on October 5, 2009 BK (Before Kids) in the Wasatch. We were moving to NC soon to take care of my grandma. I was a fresh seminary grad. Sadly, I never found a church to hire me, not even for free. So many what ifs for that season of life.

Seventeen years later: I still feel the calling. I still love Jesus. I still love 🏂 I still work in IT. Life took a very different road than I imagined.

Fall has entered the chat. 🍂 Quaking aspens turn beautiful shades of yellow in the fall, shimmering as the sun dances across their leaves. Photo by Jim Grindley

In 1997, a developer publicly told Steve Jobs he had no idea what he was talking about. Jobs paused and answered with the most important business lesson ever delivered under pressure. Bookmark & watch today, no matter what.

The post-1945 U.S.-led order was built around many of the things: open trade + alliances + multilateral institutions + democratic partners + shared rules + economic interdependence. Stronger together is the lesson we learn while on teams. youtu.be/xUxk_-t-ZwM?is=ZNwk…

A buzzword we can pull from the business world is “force multiplier.” Similar alliances used to bring strength to 🇺🇸 . In such alliances we were stronger together. Our collective intelligence increased. We had each other’s back.

The irony of it all is that from geopolitical, economic, and foreign policy filters, this feels like what we used to call the American spirit.

Carney and von der Leyen signals a shift toward strategicly networked multilateralism and tighter partnerships among like-minded democracies. Free trade and multilateralism continues! youtu.be/m9_bxPclnsk?is=UHhx…

And imagine if Canada opened that pathway even further by strengthening access to the EU. That could become a remarkably attractive alternative for a lot of USAmericans.

One can feel and sense the revival happening. When I desired to be Anglican clergy in the USA, this was the church that most inspired me. I can still see and imagine locally contextualized expressions of church. | St Aldates Oxford | 13th September 2026 youtube.com/live/mpUpAh86eOw…

Oh yeah! Perfect snowboarding terrain too. Much love for riding with pros too. Their form and technique:🔥! I can hold my own against most skiers, but riding with those who trained on national ski teams is next level! youtube.com/shorts/GzYWob9zM…

The effective edge from two rails locking in the skier provides an advantage too. I’m in awe when snowboarding behind pro skiers at speed. My best speed runs are not with snowboarders, but while riding with skiers.

Yes! I'm on 12m / 14m radius boards for my authentic carving boards. The speed it allows me to carry while making trenches provides such a great feeling, yet one can't begin with such a radius. I still bootout with 30cm waist width so I holding back. youtu.be/_iY_qgsxTHI?is=o_e-…

Eventually I'd like to try as wide as a 31 to 32 cm waist width. If I make it out west or back Germany / Austria, I'd love to try a 16m+ radius. Yet, I can't fully use my 14 radius board in NC. I need steeper and wider terrain. Only Gunther's allows me to unleash that board.

I transitioned into carving with this equipment because it was the only way I could find that kept snowboarding fun in this limited terrain after 15 years in Utah and 3 in Germany / Austria. I still often consider quitting until I live in bigger mountains again.

Yet, it's capable of so much more than the NC terrain will allow. A 12 meter radius rides really well for me here for the first 1 to 2 hours. Once then slope gets crowded, that's too much speed.
