Replying to @netbackyard
@netbackyard builds the rails where compute is metered, billed, and settled. CEO Mai Trinh (ex-Sanctuary AI) is joining our September 30th session on GPU market structure, ahead of next month's GPU futures listing. No two exchanges racing to launch agree on an index. Without a standard GPU-hour, there's nothing to hedge or lend against. Join us live → luma.com/v7tsvirg

Today we're launching gpuspec.io. Buying or selling GPU capacity means describing the same cluster over and over: model, count, region, fabric, term, price. It's slow to write, easy to garble, and impossible to track once it's been forwarded a few times.

happy to share I'm joining @netbackyard as a Member of Technical Staff 🌱 compute spend is messy and complex, yet somehow still tracked in spreadsheets - so we're building the financial layer of the compute economy. now I'm headed to SF! excited to be back :)

Hard to get me out of the house for "tech events" Never the less. Here I'll be. Love Internet Backyard.
May 26, 6pm, Toronto, private debate on the future of compute infrastructure, sovereignty, and AI industrialization in Canada. Topic: Will Canada become an AI compute power or remain raw material for someone else’s stack? The session is intentionally off-record. No recordings, no photography, and no livestreaming will be permitted. Attendance is limited to 40 experts in energy, land, construction, financing, chips, inference, neoclouds, AI labs, robotics. Those who attend must dance, no exception can be made.

How VRAM actually gets consumed serving DeepSeek V4-Pro at FP4 across 4 GPUs. 4× B200, per card: weights overflow. Doesn't run. 4× B300, per card: 75 GB free per card for KV cache and concurrency. Same hourly listed rate. Different operational reality.

Turns out, writing about @OrnnExchange last week was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to Capital Markets in the Compute world. I took a step back and looked into the ingredients needed for Capital Markets to form around a commodity.

➥ Project Spotlight - Week 03/2026 Here are 9 handpicked projects you'll want to explore. ➢ @ZEITFinance ➢ @cashcitydotfun ➢ @dreaming ➢ @netbackyard ➢ @projecteleven ➢ @hermessubnet ➢ @usdat21 ➢ @STAK_Fi ➢ @nadoHQ Powered by @arbusai, @getmoni_io and @_dexuai Below you will find brief summaries for each. Let's dive in! … — 📌 | Zeit ZEIT Finance turns prediction markets into perpetual assets. It enables users to discover, allocate to, and compose with prediction vaults and perpetuals in DeFi, allowing skin-in-the-game trading on real-world events (e.g., via integrations like @Polymarket). - — 📌 | Cash City Cash City is a degen/trading firm simulation game coming soon to Solana. Players build and manage firms, hire interns, rip packs, stack cash, and compete in a fun, community-driven GameFi experience with no presale, no team allocation, no ICO, or NFTs - — 📌 | Dream Dream is a mobile-first trading app (iOS/Android) for crypto and options with leverage but no liquidations. It supports cross-chain trades with zero gas fees, options on BTC/ETH/HYPE/SOL, crypto deposits or Apple Pay, and fast execution. - — 📌 | Internet Backyard Internet Backyard builds the financial backbone for the global compute economy (AI/GPU/data centers). Their platform (starting with the Gnomos AI agent) automates quoting, billing, metered usage, payments, and cash flow for providers, targeting mid-market data centers to solve fragmented finance, pricing drift, and manual processes in high-demand compute markets. - — 📌 | Project Eleven Project Eleven secures digital assets for the post-quantum era by developing post-quantum cryptography tools and migration solutions for blockchains (e.g., Bitcoin, Solana). They provide readiness assessments, test environments, and deployment sequencing to prepare ecosystems for quantum threats to current encryption. Recently raised $20M Series A (total ~$26M) from top VCs like @CastleIslandVC, @cbventures , and @Balajis. - — 📌 | BlackOpal Hermes is a Bittensor subnet (SN82 on @opentensor) enabling real-time AI and blockchain data connections via GraphQL, the Web3 data querying standard. Hermes incentivizes high-performance AI, like miners and validators, to quickly query and interpret on-chain data, allowing fast access in natural language (e.g., "Top Ethereum yields" or "Best arbitrage now?"). Developed by @SubQueryNetwork, akin to The Graph in blockchain indexing, Hermes launched on January 15, 2026, backed by @YumaGroup / @BarrySilbert. - — 📌 | Saturn $USDat (also referred to as Saturn or sUSDat in yield-bearing form) is a stablecoin protocol delivering 11%+ yield on a synthetic USD stablecoin backed by Bitcoin exposure. The protocol generates yields primarily through @MicroStrategy 's $STRC (a digital credit/preferred share product from the @saylor /Strategy ecosystem, offering monthly dividends ~9-11% while pegged to $100 value), combined with U.S. Treasury-linked instruments for stability. This creates a yield-bearing stablecoin (sUSDat) that provides on-chain, global access to "digital credit", essentially allowing users to earn double-digit yields by indirectly lending to $BTC treasury strategies in a DeFi-native way, without traditional banks or off-chain reliance. - — 📌 | STAK STAK is a yield-bearing token backed by $325M+ in Tier-1 Australian real-world assets (properties/private credit) and boosted by low-risk DeFi (via @YieldNestFi MAX Vaults, @CurveFinance , and @StakeDAOHQ). Users deposit $USDC to mint $STAK, earn ~33% dynamic yield with instant liquidity, no lockups, full transparency, automated compounding, and on-chain visibility. - — 📌 | Nado Nado is a unified CLOB DEX for spot, perps, and money markets with single-margin trading — all in one place. Built by ex-Kraken team members and deployed on @inkonchain, it recently hit $1B+ in 24h volume during private alpha.

Everyone is obsessed with GPUs. Clusters. Power. Capacity. Almost nobody is talking about the boring part that decides whether this whole thing scales: the money layer, that’s where the @netbackyard comes in What they do: Internet Backyard is building the financial backbone for the global compute economy. Their platform automates quoting, billing, payments, and financial workflows for data center operators and GPU providers. Gnomos (their first product) is an AI agent that provides operators with real-time snapshots of usage, energy, revenue, and cash flow, while automating the entire order-to-cash process. Instead of sending customized quotes a hundred times and chasing disputes, operators get instant quoting, metered billing, payments, and reconciliation in one place. They're targeting mid-market data centers drowning in manual processes, with their first customer being Vancouver-based AxiNorth. Why they're (going to be) a unicorn: Compute is now 74%+ of IT costs for AI companies, yet the financial infrastructure is fragmented. Internet Backyard isn't competing with hyperscalers; they're building the rails underneath everyone. After speaking with over 50 AI labs, they understood that compute pricing hinders capital allocation and infrastructure planning across the board. Their vision goes beyond billing to creating privacy-preserving benchmarks and turning physical capacity into tradeable units that can be reserved, insured, and financed. They're solving the unsexy infrastructure problem every AI company and data center desperately needs solved. Internet Backyard is attacking that exact choke point. If they succeed, they don’t just support the compute economy. They sit underneath it. Quietly. Persistently. The same way Stripe did for online payments. That kind of position compounds over time. And those tend to be the most durable companies. Ratings: Team: 4/5 Product: 5/5 Execution: 3/5 Market Fit: 5/5 Defensibility: 3/5 internetbackyard.com/ #9 Companies I Would Love to Join or Invest In
