We will be putting the dog name and rescue name on the freedom picture. 🆘️ ⸻ 🐾 Meet 5 month old puppy Hero ID #A2094094 5-month-old male German Shepherd mix Black/Brown | 36.2 lbs | Neutered 9/6/26 Current Intake: 9/10/2026 Status: Rescue only Hero is Head to Lab (HTL) Hero was adopted on 9/1, but a bite was reported by his adopter on 9/7. The reported bite to the arm was minor but did break the skin, and Hero was surrendered back to BARC. He is now RESCUE ONLY while completing bite quarantine. His neuter on 9/6 was routine. Hero was signed over by the adopted as Head to Lab (HTL). If he is not rescued, he will be decapitated and his head will be sent to a lab to check for rabies. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Hero is a 5-month-old, 36-pound puppy with lots of energy who doesn’t realize how big he is! Before adoption, staff documented a relaxed body, low wagging tail and soft, smiling mouth and were able to pick him up and carry him without issue. A recent handler described Hero as smart, energetic and handleable, with no aggression observed during their interaction. Hero was found tied to a park bench, brought to BARC, adopted, and then returned after a bite incident. Now this puppy is facing euthanasia before he’s even had the chance to grow up.
