It is said that Albert Einstein himself struggled with the trauma, disappointment, and burnout that comes from being labeled a gifted kid.

Songwriters love to be like “I can’t quit you babe”. Ok well you can’t quit heroin either so I don’t see why that is necessarily a good thing

This is nothing. This Friday I was out with @_LarryJ_ and when he saw a woman lifting another woman up with a complement he asked to wash both of their feet

Biden alpha dogged Trump so hard he stopped doing his signature fake orange man style. Absolutely effortless
Trump has decided to fight fire with fire and use the same methods as Biden to prevent looking old like face lifts, diet pills, and possibly trt. He used to wear big suits, stand next to pretty women and wear lots of makeup before. this is why transhumanism may win in the end

All the humanities people replying to this saying he’s wrong are pure cope, which is sad because the better angle of attack is that literature, philosophy, and art are actually fun whereas nobody would do the vast majority of STEM stuff if they weren’t paid to do it.
News flash: People in STEM already immerse themselves in literature, philosophy, and art, and think deeply about the human dimension of their work. Far more often than professors in social theory learn calculus or thermodynamics or quantum theory.

"How come more physicists are more likely to spend their evenings reading or writing poetry or playing Bach on the piano than novelists are to spend their evenings doing perturbation theory calculations?" -a Fucking idiot

Another way to look at it is that it is *extremely* common to run into people who got into STEM who tell you they initially tried to make it as an artist; not once have I run into a professional musician who said they're doing this music thing because engineering didn't work out

The CARES act worked. The lesson is that we should do it again
We are now the only developed country in the world whose economy is bigger than it was before the pandemic. Our economic plan is working.

Worry not Mr. Bloomberg. You will of course be getting the special treatment here at Sloan Kettering Medical Center. We've arranged to clear out an entire hospital wing for your stay, and your personal physician is picking up your medication at Tractor Supply Co. as we speak.

"Elites have medicine not available to us rubes" (probably true!) but also "That medicine is totally available at the Fleet Farm!" (laughable)

Ultimately it's really sad that some people are trying to protect themselves from covid using almost any medication except the actual vaccine. The common thread with those people is they believe there's always some secret that will fix their problems and they're not in on it.
