You have to read War Minus Shooting's description of the India-Pakistan Quarter Final match of the 1996 World Cup. Beautiful book altogether but I decided to reread this particular bit before today's match and it put so many things in perspective.

At last I found the etymology for Round Tana - in the 1850s, a circular Thana or police station stood on Mount Road. It was later demolished leaving the roundabout behind. Now any roundabout in Chennai is referred to as Round Tana and there are 120 of them! Article soon.
