Our modern “social media” tools for are actually attention baiting platforms, designed not to foster humane discourse in spaces with norms. Rather, they are broadcast systems that just happen to be barely usable for threaded discussion. Thus they select for amplified discord.

P(A | B) versus P(A | B & C) So most people correctly estimated the chances disregarding the symptoms. Others argued, also correctly, that we should be realistic and condition on the symptoms. Here's my attempt to do that. Basically, I find the chances double with the symptoms.
