To the Arabic-speaking people who came to criticize my post yesterday:
โDid you forget Nagasaki and Hiroshima?โ
โYouโre just Americaโs slave.โ
โJapan is a country of gropers.โ
More than 90% of the comments were basically the same.
At some point, I honestly wondered:
are you all bots?
Japanese people have not forgotten.
Not Hiroshima.
Not Nagasaki.
It is true that the postwar occupation of Japan is complicated.
It is also true that Japan has a problem with sexual harassment and groping.
I am not trying to deny any of that.
But let me say this clearly one more time.
Japanese people have not forgotten Hiroshima.
We have not forgotten Nagasaki.
The lives lost that day,
the pain burned into our history,
and the scars left behind
are still part of Japanโs memory.
But we do not choose to hate the Americans standing in front of us today
because of what happened 80 years ago.
We do not force children, students, travelers, or friends
to carry the anger of the past.
That is not strength.
That is just taking old grief, turning it into hatred,
and letting it rot inside your heart.
Yes, the history of the occupation is complicated.
Yes, there are still things worth discussing.
And yes, Japan has issues with groping.
I will not pretend otherwise.
But if you want to talk about womenโs dignity,
then start by respecting women as human beings.
Do not tell Japan that society becomes moral
by restricting womenโs freedom.
Do not tell Japan that problems disappear
by hiding womenโs bodies.
That way of thinking is not something we want forced on us.
Japan was wounded.
Deeply.
But Japan stood up again.
We rebuilt our cities.
We carried our losses.
And we moved forward.
And part of that history includes our relationship with America.
Remembering the past
and living as a prisoner of hatred
are not the same thing.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki are not words for you to use
as weapons against Japanese people.
They are Japanโs memory.
They are Japanโs pain.
And they are a warning to the world
that the same tragedy must never happen again.
Do not use our dead
as fuel for your anger.

There was never a $12 billion hole in the budget. That fairy tale was cooked up to justify reckless spending and political theater.
I left the incoming administration with $8 billion in reserves, not a financial apocalypse.
Albany election-year bailouts are not a long-term economic strategy. The free money dries up after Election Day, but the bloated โfreeโ programs stay forever.
And hereโs the part the socialists in City Hall never want to admit: the millionaires and billionaires they love demonizing already pay roughly 40% of NYCโs taxes. Keep demonizing the people creating jobs, investing in this city, and carrying the tax base, and eventually theyโll stop investing here altogether.
Facts are stubborn things. Even when some politicians arenโt.

To my American friends,
I want to speak from the heart, because this moment truly moved me as a Japanese citizen.
When President Trump made that Pearl Harbor joke, it wasnโt just humor to us. It felt like a weight Iโd carried my whole life was suddenly lifted. My chest tightened, and honestly, tears came close.
For 80 long years, we Japanese have lived under a heavy shadow โ the constant expectation to apologize, to reflect, to stay in โguilt mode.โ Even though weโre the closest of allies, that old wound never fully healed. We felt bound by the past, by the Constitution America helped write for us, always a little smaller, always needing to prove we were sorry enough.
But in that single joke, Trump did something powerful. He turned a painful history into a shared laugh between equals. It was like he was saying:
โHey, it was a long time ago. Weโre good. Letโs move forward โ as brothers.โ
No more endless atonement. No more living in the shadow of being the โformer enemy.โ The curse broke. Japan feels free to stand tall again.
Right now, cherry blossoms are blooming beautifully all across Japan. ๐ธ
This spring, the sakura feels like a perfect symbol โ a fresh beginning. Not two nations stuck in old roles, but true equals, proud brothers, shoulder to shoulder, ready to build the future together.
To the American people:
We donโt want to be subordinates forever. We want to be your real partners โ strong, proud, and loyal. The kind of allies who ride or die together.
Thank you, Mr. President.
Thank you, America.
The strongest alliance in the world is rising again โ as equals, as brothers, forever.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
