Wonderful to be able to launch this critical paper last night! Thank you @DrTedros for your support and all of the @WHO STAGE members and so many others @world_midwives @UNFPA @Jhpiego @BurnetInstitute - the implementation guide comes next
It’s estimated that universal high-quality midwifery care in all countries could save up to 4.3 million lives annually by 2035.
To make this a reality, @WHO launched the Global Position Paper outlining how countries can transition to sustainable midwifery models of care, where midwives are the main providers for women and newborns from before pregnancy through to the postnatal period: bit.ly/4h8Xx1W

#PAS2024 #neotwitter so interesting to see many of us using non-synchronized NIPPV… we are convinced that it’s just another way of increasing the MAP and that higher CPAP pressures are the way to go, as in the ÉCLAT trial:
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3824…
#neotwitter poll:
My standard practice is to extubate extremely preterm infants to:
40%CPAP
30%Non-synchronized NIPPV
16%Synch NIPPV / NIV-NAVA
