Alfred Lu @murmurlu, Blockchain Developer at @imTokenOfficial, returns to ETHTaipei this September.
Alfred spoke at ETHTaipei 2025, and his work spans Layer 2, ZK proofs, and account systems.
In “Assets First, Proofs Later: Building Verifiable Cross-Chain Intents with OIF,” he’ll demonstrate a fast-fill intent between TVM and EVM, where solvers deliver assets first while Hyperlane carries the proof back for OIF settlement.
He’ll also unpack the practical challenges behind it, from proof correctness and cross-chain fees to EVM/TVM compatibility.

Step 1: Swap any ERC20s (like stETH) into ETH
Step 2: Swap any ETH into BTC
Step 3: Cash out BTC to cash (Chinese Renminbi) using Asian exchanges
This process can take years. They are in no hurry.
In 2022, it was noted how North Korea was still sitting on $55 worth of funds from hacks that happened six years earlier (2016).

Bitcoin's biggest challenge is scalability. StarkWare has a vision to change that.
The concept of STARK scaling for blockchains was first introduced by @EliBenSasson at a Bitcoin conference in early 2013.
It's now time to scale Bitcoin with ZK-STARK, making it more accessible to everyone.
The overarching goal: to transform @Starknet to be a self-custodial decentralized L2 with full functionality over both Ethereum and Bitcoin.

ZK is a public good that should belong to everyone.
Matter Labs, the corporate entity behind @zksync, has filed trademark applications in nine countries, claiming ZK as its exclusive intellectual property, even though they neither created nor contributed to the creation of this technology.
By using the legal system to claim a public good for itself, Matter Labs contradicts the ethos of crypto, Ethereum, and its own principles, which state: "We can make this world better by increasing people's freedom."
StarkWare, alongside other leading ZK companies and researchers, urges the community to demand that Matter Labs withdraw all their trademark attempts.
