"In a society comprised of compulsive writers and readers, of empty-calorie text, the study of artful language—of words that truly matter—is more necessary now than ever."

An Advocate, Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi was abducted on 1/11/26 along Muchai Drive. His motor vehicle was recovered on the same road. The incident was at Kilimani Police Station - 55/1/11/2026 .
Reports from people who witnessed the incident, indicate he was pursued by 2 motor vehicles, a Prado TX and a double cab. The occupants of those vehicles had guns and 2 were in what seemed like police uniform and bullet proof vests.
The abduction is linked to a case he’s involved in against some senior police officers & he’s been subjected to various intimidation tactics prior to this incident.
An attack against an Advocate is an attack on the administration of justice and due process of law. The involvement of police in extra judicial abductions continue to prevail despite repeated assurances that they will end. The police cannot behave as if the life of a Kenyan doesn’t matter. They are not above the law.
@IG_NPS @kipmurkomen @ray_omollo intervene and urgently release our colleague from your agents.

So, during the abduction of Alex Kiprotich along the Gilgil-Nakuru highway, his vehicle's dashcam automatically recorded real-time footage of the entire incident, taking a clear video of the armed operatives blocking his vehicle. It recorded their vehicle's registration number, KDC 125E, and showed them surrounding the car and unmasking themselves as they forced him out. The footage was automatically transmitted to remote cloud storage and immediately accessed by The Standard Group and his family, and the identities of the assailants, the vehicle details, and the location were exposed in real time.
It must have been the widespread public outrage created by the instant exposure of the footage that forced The Standard Group, human rights organizations, and political groups to raise an immediate alarm over his disappearance. This live footage made it impossible for his captors to deny their involvement or operate in secret, leading them to abandon their plan to eliminate him, instead dumping him alive near Masinga Dam nine hours later.

These ones just 'eat' whatever money FIFA throws their way. We'd easily sell our own for less than a penny.

Kenyan bad manners/bad culture that has zero respect for public spaces and public infrastructure is already showing up on the newly commissioned ngong road flyover. @amenya_nelson As I say the problem is the Kenyan society-the kenyans themselves, as much as you blame leaders but things that require use of common sense and brains seems difficult for many kenyans. @KURAroads @MuriraKinoti you need to be serious and punitive with law enforcement to deter such kind of habits otherwise this entire place will turn into another parking lot and car wash and render the road useless
This thing is literally built overlooking the Nakuru Statehouse...lots of questions on whether there were any security considerations from the state. One can see it towering above the Statehouse when driving along the main highway.

Israel flattened Beirut in 1982.
No Hamas. No Hezbollah. No October 7 to point to then.
Just 17,000 dead Lebanese and Palestinian civilians.
Even US president then Ronald Reagan, who armed Israel, called Begin furious after seeing a photo of a 7-month-old baby with its arms blown off and said “It is a holocaust”.
They killed so many innocent people that the survivors had no choice but to pick up weapons.
Then Israel had the audacity to keep using “Self-Defense” excuse every decade.
Israel didn’t stumble into endless war. Israel built it. Brick by brick.
Own it.

I built this company. I've watched its value fall 62% in four years. Today its minority shareholders vote to hold the board to account, a vote we cannot win but will not stay silent on. Here's why. #WPPScangroup, @WPP
