as a go player or student, reader or traveller, as a person living their passion or looking for their place in life, you might do worse than finding either of these under the tree this year

Theres a very long list of US products that cannot be sold in the EU thanks to EU regulations. Since the favorite pastime of the Trump regime and every US oligarch is now to demonize EU regulations, I thought it would be very much worth going through some of those products.🧵

The problematic German documentary legitimising Yoon's far-right conspiracies has now been deleted from the ARD Mediathek website. ardmediathek.de/video/Y3JpZD…

1/ I just watched the German public broadcaster ARD's documentary about South Korea's martial law crisis. It’s both appalling and shocking. This isn't merely biased journalism, it's borderline unethical, functioning essentially as a mouthpiece for far-right conspiracy theorists.

That was the card Ukraine thought they had, until Trump took the card away, and said "You don't have the card".

That time @marcorubio explained how USA, Russia & the UK promised Ukraine to provide for their defense forever if they gave up the huge stockpile of nuclear weapons left in the country after the Soviet Union fell. Good times.

late xmas gift from my oldest student friend, bought at the same pottery where we shopped in our student days. the towel is an earlier gift; the swiss name of the fish is the same as that of one of our teachers who died a few years ago. inauguration with sweet chai and oat milk.
teacup with petrol blue inner glaze filled with tea, on a towel with the depiction of a perch. i love my friends.

at this point black ran out of stones, no prisoners left to exchange either. the game is nearly finished, and it’s close. who wins and by how much? black to move. 2/2
136 black stones are not quite enough for an entire game! white had about 10 left. (around 160, with about 20 stones missing, still works.)

apple korean language kit, 1996. it came in a box with a set of 3.5 inch floppy disks which i guess i got rid of at some point, but i found the guides and the keyboard stickers! i still remember how excited i was to get it – hard to imagine nowadays.
would have served me well for the master's thesis on korean phonology that i handed in two years earlier, 30 years ago today.
