This is not a heartwarming story. It is actually a glimpse into a modern dystopia.

Today is #WorldRhinoDay, and there is no better way to celebrate than by honouring a truly historic milestone for wildlife conservation!
Just recently, Kenya 🇰🇪 officially launched the expanded Tsavo West Rhino Sanctuary, making it the largest rhino sanctuary in the world! 🦏
Spanning a massive 3,200 km², this incredible sanctuary gives endangered Eastern black rhinos the space they need to roam, breed safely and recover - with a vast territory to support their long-term survival.
Before this expansion, nearly 150 rhinos were living in an overcrowded 92 km² area. Now, thanks to an ambitious conservation project featuring 240 km of secure fencing, 47 new water points and advanced microchip tracking, these remarkable animals have a much larger, safer stronghold to call home.
Kenya is already home to nearly 78% of the world's remaining Eastern black rhinos, and this sanctuary is a massive step toward the national goal of reaching 2,000 rhinos by 2037.
Want to make a direct impact this World Rhino Day?
You can support on-the-ground protection, habitat security, and expert veterinary care by donating directly to the KWS Portal 🔗 kwspay.ecitizen.go.ke/donate
Every bit helps safeguard their future!
Happy World Rhino Day! 💚

‼️ BREAKING: Journalists hid an Airtag in a rare book shipment and confirmed Amazon to be one of the buyers behind the bulk orders destroying rare-books to feed their AI.
They tracked it to Amazon's LAS8 warehouse in Las Vegas, home to VGT3 (see logo below), a scanning operation feeding Amazon's AI training data, where workers say they cut the bindings off books to scan them faster.
Amazon won't say why the books are destroyed.

Put August 12 in your phone now. Genuinely.
Before sunrise, six planets spread across the sky. Afternoon, the eclipse. After dark, the Perseids Meteor shower.
Four events on one day, NASA says, and the new moon that same date keeps the sky dark enough to actually see the meteors.
You don't need a telescope for most of it. A field, a coat, and twenty minutes for your eyes to adjust.

Fifteen years ago, @Coursera and online courses changed education. It worked better than almost anyone expected, expanding access by opening up where you can learn. But how you learn remains largely the same as it has for centuries: it is still one-size-fits-all, taught the same way to each person who shows up.
We now have an opportunity to change how learning happens. With advances in AI, we can now build a custom learning guide for each person. We will turn learning from one‑to‑many to one‑to‑one. I'm starting LearnVector to invent this next generation of learning. We are starting with a $100M investment from Coursera, and plan to collaborate closely with Coursera and Udemy.
Good learning needs much more than just a chatbot. Research shows that chatbots without guardrails harm learning. They help complete tasks and enable students to do better on homework. But cognitive offloading to a chatbot results in them being less skilled. And, you cannot always trust what a chatbot tells you.
In contrast, LearnVector will plan a path with you, adapt to how you learn, and patiently stay with you until you’ve mastered new skills.
One thing has not changed in all this time. People want learning they can trust: material that is accurate, relevant, and worth the effort you put into it. Anything less wastes the most valuable thing a learner has: time. Coursera has a trusted library of materials from authoritative sources. LearnVector plans to work with Coursera to bring this trustworthy learning to everyone. I'm grateful to Greg Hart and the entire Coursera team for supporting LearnVector.
I look forward to working with our talented team to change how we learn, and accelerate human development.

Instead, it flows into the Kalahari Desert, spreads across the sand... and simply vanishes.
