Day 500 #NatTo1bChallenge Bitcoin on day 500 was almost invisible. No timeline. No ETFs. No nation-state bags. Just work. Energy in. Block out. Most people called it nothing. ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 on day 500 is in the same room. No premine. No founder. Minted from the block. Paid to the miner. ~65% of global hashrate already touching it. Bitcoin was chapter 1. Digital energy. The vault. ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 is chapter 2. The payroll for that vault. Same chain. Same 10-minute clock. The first subsidy keeps getting cut. This one does not have to. Bitcoin rose because the work was real and the market was late. Same setup. Different layer. ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 @natgmi

Day 498 #NatTo1bChallenge Would you put your life savings in a locker with no guard? Bitcoin is that locker. Every 10 minutes it has to buy security. The subsidy keeps getting cut. Fees still don’t cover the invoice. The 21M doesn’t move. Miners are the guard. When the paycheck shrinks, some of them leave. Hashrate does not run on speeches. It runs on revenue. ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 is the second paycheck. Minted from the same block. Paid to the same miner. No premine. No founder. ~65% of global hashrate is already taking it. You can call the vault safe. The market still has to price the guard. ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 @natgmi

Everyone wants the vault. Almost no one asks who is still willing to stand outside it. Bitcoin’s security is a wage, not a vibe. That wage gets cut on a schedule. Fees never replaced it. Miners do not hash for free. ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 is the extra wage that clears with the same block. No premine. No founder. No change to the 21M. The network can keep growing. The guard still has to get paid. $DMT-NAT

Apparently this is a “dumb” and controversial opinion 🥴 I personally challenge any Bitcoiner to explain to me (clearly and coherently) why NAT (@natgmi) is NOT an overall net positive for Bitcoin. It’s been 3 years, and still nobody has been able to do it. Not a single one 🤷‍♂️
Binance’s decision to discontinue its mining pool in November is concerning news for Bitcoin’s mining ecosystem. Miners can move elsewhere, but losing a major pool operator such as Binance now means fewer alternatives, and risks a greater concentration of control if that hashrate flows towards the largest remaining pools. That is not the direction we and our community want for Bitcoin’s decentralisation. Here at TAP, supporting miner profitability and long-term sustainability is a priority. Demonstrated through our miner-redirect mechanism that provides an additional, Bitcoin-native block reward for every block mined (paid in DMT-NAT: @natgmi). This was done with the primary aim of strengthening the incentives for securing the network. 🤝 All Bitcoiners want an ecosystem where a diverse range of miners and pool operators can all thrive and remain profitable. And for TAP, building on Bitcoin means a responsibililty to support the economics that underpin its security and decentralisation. As always, we invite mining pools to connect with the TAP team to explore how our miner-redirect mechanism can help their miners access this additional, Bitcoin-native revenue stream. Bitcoin's security budget issue is no longer something that can be ignored, or saved for a solution at a "later" date. We are committed to bringing this discourse into the broader Bitcoin arena for increased discussion and debate. We stand alongside all ~50k NAT advocates and holders today, and hope to see the community grow louder and stronger with every passing year. Bitcoin is NAT alone.

The amount of uninformed people in the comments of this post is not surprisingly high. People have been indoctrinated to think Bitcoin is perfect and that the difficulty adjustment solves everything. The difficulty adjustment just maintains a 10 min block time, that's it. The security of Bitcoin is measured by the cost of attack not hash rate. Miners leaving the network increases centralization and reduces the cost of attack. Binance leaving alone isn't the issue, the issue is the trend of miners leaving the network as more halvings occur. Binance generating billions in revenue cant even mine Bitcoin altruistically, despite Bitcoin's importance. This is a notable data point for the altruism fans, that incentives is what drives behaviors, not virtue. You would expect that as the network grows in value, now at $1.6 T, the security infrastructure that secures it would grow, but instead we have less miners over time rather than more. The lack of understanding of simple math is a good indicator that Bitcoin can still fail on its mission. Humanity can fumble this ball by making Bitcoin infinite or taxing all Bitcoin holders. Don't let it happen, read the NATpaper @natgmi
If you hold Bitcoin, or for that matter, any crypto at all, this @binance news should absolutely terrify you! 😱😳 The fact that one of the wealthiest crypto companies, that generates around 15 Billion dollars per year from the industry has decided to shutdown its mining operations, should be making you massively question Bitcoin’s economic health. The beating heart of the entire industry, now has companies and their founders such as CZ (who are still happy to bull-post about Bitcoin’s future price every day btw), not even being able to run a profitable mining business around it?! 😳 The maths ain’t mathing I’m afraid 🤔 Bitcoin’s security budget is decaying, and mining pools are shutting down with increasing regularity, and yet the Bitcoin community mostly remains silent on this subject! 🤐 It’s almost like the wealthiest private companies in the crypto ecosystem are happy to see Bitcoin become more and more centralised as long as they can top up their revenues with things like AI data centres. I’m sorry to say it guys, but Bitcoin is in a LOT of trouble here, and therefore every single digital asset you own is too. 😬 This is a BAD bad sign! I will continue stacking ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 (@natgmi) because only that community actually sees what’s happening here, and is actually trying to do something about it.

It is getting obvious. Mining pools need a second subsidy. The first one keeps getting cut. Fees still do not cover the invoice. 1/ Binance is shutting down their Bitcoin mining pool. The biggest exchange in crypto just admitted mining isn’t profitable enough. This isn’t noise. It’s the security budget problem arriving early. 2/ Bitcoin’s security = cost to attack = miner revenue. Subsidy halves every 4 years. Fees have never replaced it. Miners leave or concentrate. 2028 makes it obvious. 21M or bust has a price. 3/ ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 is not a shitcoin. Its supply is set by Bitcoin’s own block data—the bits field that encodes difficulty. No team. No VC. No arbitrary number. Bitcoin’s DNA mints the token. 4/ Miners get BTC + ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 for the same hash. Same electricity. Same rigs. Extra revenue. Zero consensus changes. Pools already distributing it. This is the second subsidy. 5/ Alternatives: - Infinite supply - Tax holders forever - Watch hashpower leave ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 keeps the 21M promise and pays the miners. Binance exiting is the canary. The chain already contains the answer.

Binance shutting down their Bitcoin mining operations doesn’t really invoke confidence in Bitcoin does it? How does the biggest exchange in crypto not find Bitcoin mining profitable? It’s the declining security budget is how. This problem will only get worse and leads to less security and more centralization. It’s time for everyone wake up and support Bitcoin 2nd subsidy ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247. This is the only token in crypto that actually helps Bitcoins long term security. You do NAT have a choice any more… Unless you want infinite Bitcoin supply or give up your property through taxation. @natgmi <— predicted this outcome, read the NATpaper

We have another Bitcoin miner pivoting away from Bitcoin to AI. Anyone else seeing a pattern? Are you NAT concerned? Just a little more centralization won’t hurt anyone’s Bitcoin bags right? And you think quantum is a looming threat, declining security budget problems are already here. You’re just ignoring it because hope based security makes the problem easy to ignore. For everyone else who sees this problem there is ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 @natgmi
LATEST: ⛏️ Genesis Digital, which Alameda Research backed with over $1B before FTX collapsed, is set to pivot from Bitcoin mining to AI computing under SWI Group, WSJ reports.

Binance is now one of MANY mining pools that have shutdown or pivoted to AI. 💀 All of these below have felt the brutal economic hardships of Bitcoin mining and decided to get out of the game. The network’s security budget is no longer sufficiently compensating them for that business model. 😬 This is why I champion ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 (@natgmi) as it is the only Bitcoin native solution to the security budget crisis. An unlike all the other proposed solutions, NAT does not require the 21M supply to be increased, or network-level taxing of holders/users of the network. If Binance had even slightly acknowledged NAT and opened a public dialogue around its feasibility, they might not have needed to take such drastic action. 😐 How much longer are pools, miners, and OG Bitcoiners with huge platforms going to bury their heads in the sand when it comes to the security budget? 🙈 This is the single largest crisis facing Bitcoin today, and Binance turning off their lights should be sending shockwaves throughout the entire Bitcoin community today! 🚨

Fees were supposed to hit any day now By 2040, they still didn't The ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 line he actually looks at is the one that never halved. A scenario, not a forecast.

Security of Bitcoin = Cost of Attack = Miner revenue Relying on fees to pay for the security of Bitcoin is relying on a hope based security model. Today, fees cover anywhere between 1-5% of the total block reward and it will grow over time. Why? Because the primary subsidy gets cut by 50% every 4 years. So the share of the fee revenue will go up. But that doesn't mean the security rises. 95% of Bitcoin mining revenue comes from the primary subsidy which is significantly impacted by the halving. The counter force to this is is exponential value growth of a minimum of 2X forever for each Bitcoin. The problem with relying on this is that nothing grows exponentially forever and even if it did, you'd be securing an exponentially increasing value with today's security budget. If Bitcoin were to grow to a $400T market cap as most believers say it will, then the security budget must grow along side this value growth or $400T isn't grounded in reality. Relying on fees means that fees must go up as the value grows and as fees grows people will decide to use anything else for transactions. A large portion of Bitcoin's volume is purely off-chain via ETFs and treasury companies. Bitcoin's dominant use case is a store-of-value. Claiming fees is the answer is just hope because the traditional solutions are so profoundly bad. The alternatives are to make Bitcoin infinite or tax all holders. The choice is to give up scarcity or give up property rights. If you don't want to give up scarcity or your property rights, there is ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 which is the first bitcoin native token that tokenizes bitcoin's security and delivers all the value to all Bitcoin miners that win a block. Its not subject to halvings, it is powered by Bitcoin, no team allocation, no VCs, free and fair. Over 45,000 holders. 60% of Bitcoin hash power is already supporting it because they know the alternatives will not work.
