Without a doubt the most insane SAR scan I’ve ever seen with Super Typhoon Champi out in the Pacific. Unbelievable stuff and great data.

SPC has upgraded to a Day 2 Enhanced Risk (level 3/5) across parts of central/northern Arizona for tomorrow (Wed, Oct 21). Confidence is increasing for supercells capable of producing all severe hazards, including tornadoes, damaging winds, and large to very large hail tomorrow afternoon. The parameter space is certainly upper echelon for the region, and this is the first time ever that the SPC has issued a Day 2 Enhanced Risk in this area.
Happy Tuesday, NYC metro! Today will be another beauty. We’ll have sunny skies, low humidity, and high temps in the upper 60s this afternoon. A north-northeasterly breeze will be gusting between 20- 30mph at times, especially near the coast.
An ocean storm/Nor’easter will stay well offshore this week. Rainfall and strong winds are not expected in the NJ, NYC and Long Island areas. But a persistent onshore flow and swells may lead to some beach erosion and minor coastal flooding during high tides by Wednesday.
Happy Monday, NYC metro! Today will be a beautiful Fall day. We’ll have mostly sunny skies, low humidity and a light northeasterly breeze. After a chilly start, it will be warmer with high temps reaching the mid 60s this afternoon. Go outside!
Happy Sunday, NYC metro! We have a chilly morning to start. But temps will warm up into the upper 50s or near 60°F for highs this afternoon. We’ll have sunny skies and a light breeze throughout the day. Not a bad day to go outside.
Freeze Warnings are also in effect for late tonight and early Sunday morning in the Interior. Make sure to protect your vegetation there, if necessary.
Happy Saturday, NYC metro! After some early morning showers, clouds will gradually break for some sunshine later today. But it will be much cooler with high temps only in the low to mid 50s and northerly winds gusting up to around 30mph at times. Dress appropriately!
Storms have weakened to mostly showers while moving through the NYC metro area this evening. Unfortunately, another round of showers is possible late tonight into early Saturday morning, as a wave of low pressure develops along the cold front.

Saturday night into Sunday morning looks very chilly in the NYC metro area. Low temps will likely get down to near 40°F in NYC proper and further down into the 30s in many of the suburbs. A light northerly breeze will make it feel even chiller at times.
Happy Friday, NYC metro! We'll have some showers this morning. Then it will turn warmer and more humid with some breaks of sunshine this afternoon. High temps will reach the mid 70s. But some strong to severe storms are likely this evening, as strong cold front approaches.
