So long, Twitter, and congratulations for your majestic $44 billion funeral.
What's happening, as you liked to ask? It's now happening, at least for me, on Mastodon and LinkedIn:

If you are using a board with a TI ARM chip such as AM335x in the 32 bit BeagleBone boards from @beagleboardorg, you may have trouble creating a bootable SD card, if you use a recent GNU/Linux distribution.
See bootlin.com/blog/workaround-… for details and a workaround.
I've been teasing about it for quite a long time in my embedded Linux training sessions for quite some time, and we eventually managed to find time to implement this new course on Linux debugging, profiling, tracing and performance analysis:

Be surprised how simple it is to generate an image for BeagleBone using the @yoctoproject:

For people who live near Orange in France, and are interested in a general introduction (in French) to Free Software.
By the way, not sure all the pictures on the pamphlet made by Café Jardin correspond to Free Software. There are some icons I don't recognize.
Did you know that @IBM is originally from Austria?
At least I found this out while driving in the area north of Salzburg.
And if you zoom on the sign on this photo, you will see that they still have a computer repair and service shop there.
About containers, I strongly recommend this eye opening "Containers – A Look Under the Hood" talk from Gerlof Langeveld:
static.sched.com/hosted_file…
This shows how standard interfaces allow to control which system resources applications can access, in a shared or private way.
The video of the @Elektor Engineering Insights Panel I participated to yesterday, with @stuartcording and Ricardo Mendoza from #pantacor is now available on YouTube: youtube.com/watch?v=c9KwwUzv…
It turns out you can use container technology without the heavyweight solutions!
Here is an update of our diagram following the size of the PREEMPT_RT patchset for the Linux kernel. We can see the size bouncing back a bit with Linux 6.0.
See lwn.net/Articles/909980/ about the last remaining bits.
Can't wait to see which changes will make it into version 6.1!
I was in Austria last week, and apparently it rained quite a lot the days before. It's mushroom season!
Last week, I was teaching our new embedded Linux course at a customer in Austria, and everything was perfect: passionate engineers, great organization and an amazing venue. In particular, the coffee was excellent and brewed by a Linux distribution generated by the @yoctoproject.
I'll speak on Wednesday about Embedded Linux and @yoctoproject at a live event from @Elektor run by @stuartcording . The topic of containers for Embedded Linux will also be addressed by Ricardo Mendoza. You are welcome to join if you are interested.

Basics of I2C on Linux
Walking Through the Linux-Based Graphics Stack
Implementing A/B System Updates with U-Boot
Already 235 participants registered to my "Implementing A/B System Updates with U-Boot - Michael Opdenacker, Bootlin" today at 11:55 (IST).
See osseu2022.sched.com/event/15… for details and slides, and if you are interested, add the talk to your schedule, to reach a "round" number 😉

Interested in Embedded Linux Conference 2022 presentations?
I've added all the individual video links to elinux.org/index.php?title=E…
elinux.org is the Embedded Linux Wiki in case you didn't know. That's one of the best places where you can share what you're learning.
5 videos from Yocto Project talks at the Embedded Linux Conference North America are now available on YouTube.
See by yourself on this special playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…
I'm a contributor to the Yocto Project. You'll feel very welcome if you start contributing to it too.
Videos from the Embedded Linux Conference North America are now available on YouTube. This conference is always a great source of information, and a wonderful service to the whole Embedded Linux community (free slides, free videos). Don't miss them!

My "Implementing A/B System Updates with U-Boot" talk proposal was accepted at the Embedded Linux Conference Europe in Dublin in September: osseu2022.sched.com/event/15…
I hope to see you there, in the conference room or even better outside of it!
The video from the "PKCS#11 with OP TEE" presentation from my @bootlincom colleague Thomas Perrot at @LiveEmbedded is now available at youtube.com/watch?v=gPXF4VYB…
Essentially, that's about implementing cryptographic operations using the secure blocks of a CPU, here i.MX8 from NXP.
