my 20s are soon coming to an end, and there's one (1) thing I would absolutely tell my younger self if I had the chance:
be 10x more stubborn, and 10x more trusting of your gut and your convictions; better to die on your sword than to hang it on your wall and see it rust away

Perfectionism tells us we must be more than we are to be good enough to create.
But you are good enough to:
- ask questions
- study where you need improvement
- try again if you make a mistake
- ask for help

I broke into comics at 40. I’m 44 now, and have roughly 350+ illustrations for clients like Marvel, DC, Sony, Paramount, Coca Cola, Square Enix, Porsche and many others.
I also didn’t draw for my entire 20s, and had to relearn to draw after vision issues at 30. Stick with it.

I wish I could think like this but once I had dozens of peoples livelihoods depending on whether or not I lead us to putting out something people like that makes the algorithm number go up it dials all those anxieties to 11 and there's no amount of sweet words that'll fix that

I've felt my sense of self-confidence grow so fully & deeply lately, and it's because I keep honoring the promises I've made to myself. Even when I'm scared or nervous or anxious, I show up and I do it anyway. Over and over and over.
I want the Art of the Princess and the Frog book so bad but it’s discontinued and like $200😭😭😭😭🥴

Big regret is saying to myself back in 2019, "I want to do this thing but I feel too old to start and it's going to take five years."
Those five years went by like nothing. I'm even older than I was and that yearning never left. Glad to start now but don't make the same mistake.
