Thank goodness he missed. So glad he’s still alive. Put that man under the jail.
He missed the school bus. So Brennan Walker, fourteen, walked the route from memory and got lost, and knocked on a door to ask for directions.
A woman screamed. Her husband came down the stairs with a sh0tgun.
Rochester Hills, Michigan. The morning of 12 April 2018. His phone was dead. He had never had to walk it before.
He knocked. Through the glass he tried to explain he had missed the bus and needed to know which way the school was.
The woman inside started shouting that he was trying to break in. Her husband, Jeffrey Zeigler, a retired firefighter, came downstairs with a sh0tgun.
Brennan ran. Zeigler came out onto the porch and fired at the back of a running fourteen-year-old. The shot missed. It is on the house's own doorbell camera, which is why we are not relying on anybody's memory.
Brennan kept running until he found someone to call his mother.
Zeigler was charged and convicted of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and a firearm offence, and sentenced to four to ten years.
Brennan's mother, Lisa Wright, said afterwards that she had taught him what to do if he got lost. Go to a house. Knock on a door. Ask an adult.
Every parent teaches that. It is the single most basic instruction there is.
He did it exactly right, and a man fired a shotgun at him for it.
He was fourteen, and he was late for school.
This is why in our book we confront the painful history too many people never hear. We must never forget these injustices

I was looking for this tweet in this whole discussion and later found it. Your god killed firstborn children, drowned them, killed them for bet, mauled them with bears and sent word to protect one boy while allowing a king slaughter thousands of many. Walai, this rebuttal isn't+

I don’t mean to be dramatic when I say this, but WHY THE FUCK IS THERE ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO, SOMEWHERE TO BE, OR SOMETHING TO PAY FOR???

This is a very well done video. It also looks like it took a lot of effort.
I don’t think I can put into words how much it accurately depicts people I fucking hate tho.

i believe the same way no one will ever top beyoncé’s coachella performance, no one will ever top rihanna’s victoria’s secret performance…
I’m on season 5 of Smallville & if I didn’t already know the lore I’d be pissed that he didn’t end up with Chloe. I don’t understand why they left space for her and not Pete. Like I get that she’s his connection to Lois but their chemistry is crazy. He’s with her more than Lana.

the way I didn't even read past the 1st line coz no part of me believes that she would ever divulge this much information abt their relationship
Zendaya speaking on her prenup with Tom Holland in a new interview:
🎙️ Zendaya: “Love doesn’t make me naive. I’ve built a fortune worth hundreds of millions, and I’m not going to gamble everything I’ve worked for just because I’m married. The prenup protects my wealth, but it also includes serious consequences for infidelity. If either of us cheats, there are financial penalties.
Tom didn’t like that at first. He felt offended, but I told him, ‘I’m not planning our divorce. I’m protecting myself in case you ever give me a reason to need that protection.’ Eventually, he signed it, and we got married.
“I can love my husband with everything in me and still refuse to leave myself financially vulnerable.” Im the end we agreed if we ever get a divorce I’ll leave with 40% of his properties
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The quote attributed to Zendaya about a prenup is fabricated and appears in no interview. The video is repurposed from a 2025 Hollywood Reporter Actress Roundtable where she discusses self-criticism while watching her own performances.
