This guy. He’s so desperate he invoked the tragedy this weekend and the soldiers who lost their lives to attack his political opponent. Every Canadian should denounce this coward.
David Eby now trying to impugn Lorne Doerkson's patriotism and love of country, in a desperate 11th hour bid to try and save his political skin. Eby even stoops to invoking fallen Canadian soldiers to try and malign his political opponents.

Conservative MP Dane Lloyd on what Ottawa could do now while pipelines are still years away: “Alberta and Canada is selling our oil at a $25 a barrel discount to the United States right now… If Prime Minister Mark Carney had lifted the west coast tanker ban, I’ve talked to people in the energy sector that said we could be shipping more Albertan oil off the west coast today to markets in Asia that will pay full price.” He added that oil by rail to the coast is feasible with terminal work: “We could be moving oil by rail to the west coast today if we didn’t have a West Coast tanker ban when this Liberal government took office.” Albertans want results, not 7–10 year timelines. Tangible steps beat rhetoric @DaneLloydMP

Alberta’s separation talk dates back more than a century. Tyler Dawson, Globe & Mail content/opinion editor, notes that “shortly after Alberta joined confederation, there’s this real sense that the province was treated poorly by Ottawa,” with a 1911 book already raising secession. The idea resurfaced under Social Credit in the 1930s, then “really comes into its own” during Pierre Trudeau’s National Energy Program, when separatist parties took about 12 percent of the vote in 1982 The pattern tracks federal politics. “You do not see a meaningful separatist movement in Alberta when Stephen Harper is Prime minister,” Dawson says, but Liberal governments have repeatedly driven alienation that “morphed into separatist sentiment.” Even after Mark Carney reversed some Trudeau-era policies, “there’s still this feeling that Alberta was treated really, really poorly in the last 11 years,” giving the movement its strongest mainstream foothold in decades Provincial leaders have responded differently. Jason Kenney “really just had no time for it,” while Danielle Smith has been “quite a bit more willing to accommodate this conversation,” calling the current referendum and easing the rules. Dawson expects the vote to leave separatism “a permanent part of Alberta’s political culture,” requiring both the UCP and Ottawa to treat the province’s grievances more seriously going forward Dawson's book, The Republic of Alberta: An Idea That Won’t Go Away was published in April 2026 @tylerrdawson

Kate Harrison on Carney’s Alberta pitch: “I think it was important for the prime minister to be out in Alberta last week making the pitch to Albertans. I think that he undermined that pitch by casting judgment on the other nine votes… He is casting judgment on a question that’s being put to Albertans before Albertans have had their say, and he did not do that before Quebecers went to the polls.” She added that the off-the-cuff remark “did more damage than it did good,” especially if Carney offers Quebec powers he withholds from Alberta @KatlynHarrison

Secretary of State Marco Rubio CONFIRMS that dismantling USAID has had a DIRECT impact on the collapse of the left in South America. Which makes one truly wonder... Has most of the world been gaslight to believe the left was mainstream when truly it isn't nearly as popular as we are led to believe? Common sense dictates that the ideology that can't define what a woman is, and wants mass migration, open borders and MASSIVE control over its population might not be what people really want.
SECRETARY RUBIO: The one that is unequivocally better right now, by far, it's night and day, is humanitarian response. It is faster, more effective, and gets to the target way faster than ever before.

CBC sends Toronto Annex Liberal Carney cheerleader Jayme Poisson to both rallies and she acts shocked that the leave side doesn’t want to talk to her Entire segment was paint-by-numbers: 5,000 at the Forever Canadian event get the full treatment—anger at Smith, treason talk, shame, sadness over immigration questions, hope Carney will save them. 1,000 at the legislature get the smaller-crowd, bad-weather, “they don’t trust media, get info from podcasts, contempt for Carney, started during COVID” framing After a month of CBC vilifying separatists, barely platforming their leaders, and stacking panels with snooty federalists, the surprise that people at the leave rally side-eyed the CBC reporter is the funniest part. The real question is: why send her at all?
CBC’s Jamie Poisson spent the whole segment glowing over a packed federalist rally: long lines, Canadian flags, Brian Adams, Carney getting huge cheers for “we are the best,” and attendees calling for Danielle Smith to be charged with treason for even allowing the referendum. This has been running every half hour. When she covers the pro-separation side later today, don’t expect the same warm treatment or a six-minute walk-up twice hourly tomorrow CBC isn’t neutral on this—one side gets the celebratory recap, the other gets the cautionary tale or the silent treatment

"Speaking on a conference call on Monday, after the release of Cliffs’s third-quarter earnings, Mr. Goncalves renewed his call for Ottawa to stomp out cheap imports of galvanized steel, a measure he says should allow the company to bring back laid-off Ontario workers. While Mr. Goncalves said that tariff-rate quotas imposed by Ottawa last year on foreign steel imports have helped Stelco considerably in hot-rolled steel, it hasn’t been enough in the galvanized sector. The Canadian market is too small to accommodate two domestic producers of galvanized steel, Stelco and ArcelorMittal Dofasco, as well as a flood of cheap imports, he said. “The domestic market in Canada simply cannot accommodate, and when the prime minister goes on a world trip and says, ‘Come to Canada, we’re open for business,’ they’re basically inviting new imports into the market.” He drew a direct line between Mr. Carney’s efforts to diversify Canada’s auto sector internationally and the loss of steel jobs in Canada. With Mr. Carney allowing China to sell a limited number of electric vehicles in Canada, “he was basically snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory,” Mr. Goncalves said" @NiallCMcGee

CBC Radio this morning explains how "food inflation" is highly subject to gas prices as everything in the food chain depends upon gas/diesel to reach consumers. The same CBC who spent a decade telling us massive carbon taxes on gas/diesel would have no impact on inflation.

Today, the people of Alberta will decide whether they wish to remain part of Canada as it is, or embark on a path toward independence. The People’s Party is the only federal party that recognizes that the status quo is unacceptable for Albertans and for all Canadians. This is why we support option 2: start the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?

Sounds about right
I attended a community event during the Kennedy Stewart era where locals were rallying for city approval to put up a fence to stop drug users from accessing the play area of their local daycare. Drug users had been leaving needles and feces. Daily morning cleanups were required. Pete Fry attended the event and I will never forget what he said. “The drug users need safe spaces too.” He was definitely more concerned about drug users than concerned parents. He didn’t even support the fence it seemed. It took over two years for the locals to get their fence.
