Really enjoyed this one with @philgcarter. We got into Zero's inception story, the twisty road since then, and how we see the future in the GLP-1 era.
In the crowded subscription app economy, building a great product is no longer enough. As AI has made software significantly faster, easier, and cheaper to build, the primary bottleneck has shifted from product development to distribution. As the serial entrepreneur behind multiple breakout Health & Fitness apps like Fitstar and Zero, @mmaser has experienced this challenge firsthand. Over the last 15 years, Mike sold his first startup called FitStar to Fitbit, was diagnosed with stage four cancer, made an incredible recovery that he attributes in part to intermittent fasting, and then teamed up with Kevin Rose to build @zerolongevity, the world’s #1 fasting app that he has since scaled to $5M+ in ARR and over 10 million registered users. Now, he's navigating Zero through its biggest disruption yet - the rise of GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy and the ripple effects they are having on the entire fasting category. Mike breaks down: - Why Zero’s simple one-screen MVP was critical for generating early momentum - How a single tweet from Elon Musk drove $1M in revenue for Zero in 24 hours - Shifting from organic virality to building a sophisticated growth and monetization engine - How Zero adapted its strategy to the GLP-1 era by helping GLP-1 patients track their hydration and manage their protein intake to maintain muscle mass - Zero’s ongoing strategies to reduce subscriber churn and build lifetime subscriber value (0:00) Introduction (2:54) What Zero is and how it created the fasting app category (3:50) Why Mike started building health and fitness apps (10:29) How Mike sold Fitstar while battling stage four cancer (14:57) How intermittent fasting helped Mike beat cancer (18:32) Why Mike took over the Zero app from Kevin Rose (20:53) Why Zero kept its initial app extremely simple (24:53) How Zero's early adopters helped drive initial growth (26:48) How Zero built trust and credibility with early adopters (29:18) How Elon's tweet drove $1M ARR for Zero in one day (32:27) Why GLP-1 medications are reshaping Zero's strategy (36:14) How Zero helps GLP-1 patients protect muscle (42:03) How GLP-1s have expanded Zero's business model (44:41) The loops that will drive Zero's next phase of growth (47:39) Lightning round

If you juggle two+ Claude accounts on Mac, you know the logout-login grind. With a bit of effort, you can run multiple accounts side by side on Claude Desktop (and Code in terminal). Get rolling in ~20 min end to end. Summary below; full walkthrough at the end:

The clone-method trap nobody writes about: a cloned app keeps fighting the real one for the claude:// link. Your connector approvals land in the other window. No error. Just nothing. If your MCP connectors "silently broke" - this is why. You did nothing wrong.

Full guide - launchers, Dock icons, Cowork notes, troubleshooting. Distilled from a long session with Claude. Running great on my Mac for weeks, but YMMV - proceed at your own risk. LMK how it goes! mud-gouda-a5e.notion.site/Ho…

$MU has one of the most bonkers charts I've ever seen. Talk me out of shorting this tomorrow.

Using Claude Code has a weird side effect: You don't just get more productive, you actually want to work more. There's something addictive about watching a product being born in real time in front of your eyes. "One last feature" after "one last feature" and it's already past 3am.

Internet issues (latency, dropouts, etc) and can't get to the bottom of it? Your ISP telling you "it must be something in your home setup - we're all good here"? Download @PingPlotter and never again spend hours wondering "WTF is going on?" loom.com/share/513be3fb8ac14…

Sora 2 + Nano Banana + Claude is absolutely WILD No actors. No video team. No $20K production budget. Just three AI models working together to replace your entire content operation. Here's how it works: → Claude analyzes your product and generates 10 different demo scenarios → Nano Banana creates realistic model holding your product (same face every time) → Claude writes optimized Sora 2 prompts for each scenario → Sora 2 animates the Nano Banana model demonstrating the product → Get multiple angles, use cases, and demos with consistent branding Perfect for e-commerce brands burning cash on UGC creators and video production. The game-changer: Nano Banana keeps the same person across ALL videos. No more "every ad has a different actor" problem that kills brand consistency. While others coordinate with 10 different creators and wait weeks for deliverables, you're testing 47 variations before lunch. Same creator across all videos. Multiple product demos. Zero production coordination. Like, RT + reply with "DEMO" and I'll DM the complete system (Must be following so I can DM) Skip this and keep paying creators $500 per video for inconsistent content.

.@Bestop_Team I ordered a couple small Bronco parts on June 7 (Order #376032). A month later, they still haven’t shipped. I’ve emailed. I’ve called. I’ve waited. At this point I’m starting to wonder if you’re forging the parts by hand in Mordor. Would love an update.

.@TMobile — I was excited to switch from AT&T to you guys, but the phone sale was a disaster. Spent an hour giving personal info, only to have my order canceled after "verifying" with no explanation. Now told to drive an hour to a store? Seriously broken. DM if you care to fix.

Val Kilmer is part of one of the greatest heist sequences in film history . Everything about Kilmer in this moment in Heat feels so real. Val Kilmer was just that dude: a vintage Hollywood bad-ass.
