Rotation is happening under the surface. Crazy to think given the -20% move in Korea and the US Ai related moves. Resilient market.. so far
All it took was a collapse of the AI stocks for market internals to shoot higher... S&P 500 10-day A/D line now overbought, % of stocks above their 50-DMAs and 200-DMAs headed higher, cumulative A/D line headed higher, and same for net new highs.

Individual stock drawdown is something @michaeljburry wrote about recently and is a chart I've shared a couple of times as well. Despite the new 52-week high in the S&P 500, more than 75% of stocks are down double digits. and over 37% are down 20% or more.

As oil soars past the $100/barrel mark and is already approaching $101, we need to understand this for what it is: The new normal. The Iranians are determined to sink Trump at the midterms in November… it is September. After that, the newly elected officials do not take their positions until January. And only THEN will the political pain really start for Trump. Between now and November, particularly around mid-October, Iran has every incentive to maximize the price of oil to ensure Trump is guaranteed to lose BOTH the House and the Senate. $100 per barrel? Welcome to the new reality.

$SPY would have to rally to 760.94 and $QQQ to 714.62 to fill this morning’s gaps. How quickly they get filled -- if at all – gives us an idea of how strong the underlying trend is... and famed market technician Phil D. Gapp notes $QQQ never printed 729.27 to fill last month’s downside gap.

The launch of OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra marks a clear transition in AI capabilities: moving from copilot assistance (generating text and code) towards direct computer control (executing multi-step workflows across applications, terminals, and browsers). While the technical jump is substantial, deployment remains gated under enterprise admin controls and access restrictions; meaning adoption will be measured, not overnight. Investment Implications: Legacy SaaS (Value Compression): Seat-based SaaS pricing faces structural pressure as agents execute workflows that previously required individual user seats. Mid-tier apps acting primarily as thin GUIs risk being reduced to low-margin systems of record. Inference & Power (Structural Demand): Multi-step, agentic execution increases token volume and compute per completed job relative to single-prompt queries. This sustains high capital intensity across compute, networking and energy infrastructure. Context & Governance Holders (Durable Moats): Models require live operational context to act safely. Value and pricing power accrue to platforms that control proprietary enterprise data, identity, permissions and audit logs. Bottom Line: Value is likely to shift away from thin middle-layer application software, concentrating instead in underlying compute and power infrastructure and in the platform layers governing enterprise execution.

Thanks for hosting @LynAldenContact and me, @BTCsessions! US Interest + Interest-like obligations (Entitlements + VA) being 105% of Federal receipts, growing ~2x receipts, in a good economy, means we are indeed "out of time" - a decision must be made, soon. Full link below.

We believe the AI debt boom is now driving Treasury yields higher. Combined bond issuance from Big Tech firms, including their Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), is expected to surge to a record $320 billion this year. This would mark a +$120 billion YoY increase, or +60%. As a % of Treasury bond issuance, this is estimated to rise to a record ~70%. This would be more than double the 30% recorded in 2025 and nearly 9x larger than 2024 levels. In other words, Big Tech is now emerging as a serious competitor to the US government in the long-term debt market, increasingly competing for the same pool of buyers just as investors are demanding more compensation to hold this debt. Big Tech debt is increasingly competing with US Treasuries for investor capital.
