Can't believe how many people are mad at me cause I felt bad about my neighbour being given bacon. Lol. Did not expect that to be controversial.
The food bank gave my neighbour bacon this week. She's Muslim. It's Ramadan. Come on guys. This is what's meant when we say food security ensures access to "culturally appropriate food." Everyone deserves food security.
I told my mother in law I was looking for the Company's Coming muffin cookbook, but I thought it was out of print. She just sent me her copy in the mail πππ§
Just went out to put the buckets back on the trees. Can confirm that the drifts in my backyard are waist deep β
Always amazed at how good tapping maples is for my mental health. March is such a hard month. So grateful for trees π³ π π
Twenty years ago, the (Dixie) Chicks nearly lost their career when they criticized George W Bush and the US invasion of Iraq at a live show in the UK. The country music industry shit its pants and their American fans had a complete meltdown.
But so much country music is actually good, and many songwriters have a strong sense of social justice that gets conveyed in their music. The Chicks are an example of this (obviously they weren't ultimately silenced following the March 03 incident, they still release music today)

We need to support each other when we stand up for the wellbeing of our communities.
Why do people from Alabama keep calling me? They're very polite and they're accents are great, but I'm definitely not the person they're looking for.

Before COVID, about 1 in 4 N.L. kids lived in poverty. In 2020, and with the arrival of CERB, the rate fell by 7%. But a lot has happened since then and those on the frontline say all that progress is at risk with political will.

Had the most pleasant interaction with an employee this morning when I called the CRA. He told me it was his second day on the job and he was nervous and sweaty. Lol. People can be jerks when they call the gov call centres. Don't be at it!! They're real people on the other line!

Dear department heads: Want to support your colleagues on strike? Be like @BarryStepMUN and resign! You get to join us on the picket line, and no more paperwork. It's a win-win!
This was not as bad as Snowmageddon, but there was so much snow and ice on the traffic lights on Freshwater Road that I thought the power was out. It was impossible to tell red from green on about half the lights I encountered between downtown and Kenmount Terrace π¦β
