🌍 The real cost of flexible ureteroscopy: 40 countries, one massive gap An international collaboration (@eau_yuo –EAU Endourology) analyzed the cost of single-use devices in ureteroscopy across 40 countries. Key findings: • Single-use flexible ureteroscope (#FURS) costs vary up to 4x across countries (€310–1638) • Access sheaths #FANS : €36–400 • Combined per-procedure cost: up to €1881 💡 But there's a solution: centers adopting validated reuse strategies cut per-procedure costs nearly in half #FURS: €676→€425 · #FANS: €180→€130) Why it matters: this gap isn't just economic — it's about equity in healthcare access. Safe reuse can be key to sustainability without compromising quality.
