Finally the political commentary I’m looking for tonight

Last night's event for @ItsEmilyKaty at @WaterstoneStAlb St Albans was so special. @SarahMarieOB did an incredible job and seeing the impact these two brilliant women had on the autistic girls in the audience was a real privilege.
And a big thank you to Ruth and her team at @WaterstoneStAlb - it was a late one because the signing queue was so long! (am also an ex-W bookseller so big love to their commitment and support!)
I met @ItsEmilyKaty through the legend that is @CathyWassell - CEO & founder of the charity that Emily is a trustee of - @AutisticGirls_ If Emily’s story touches your life, I’d recommend connecting with the network as they have a lot of resources and a great community
I never would have believed you if 6.5 years ago you’d told me whilst sectioned on a CAMHS ward that not only would I be here living life, happy & thriving, but that my book sharing my journey would be a Sunday Times Bestseller. But here I am. Thank you so much. 💖
#GirlUnmasked
I’d also recommend @CathyWassell’s own book which has become an absolute bible, especially for parents of newly diagnosed children amazon.co.uk/Nurturing-Your-…

Easter Monday tasks after appearing in the media for a tiny charity - 100s of joining requests for our Facebook group but also many more emails than we can possibly answer, all from families in various stages of desperation who absolutely deserve an answer.

A good way to kickstart World Autism Acceptance Month?
Grab a book from one of your fave autistic authors. Girl Unmasked is phenomenal, as is Emily herself, and it is now available everywhere you can buy a book!
I had some exciting book post recently!
We’ve known for years that @ItsEmilyKaty is a phenomenal writer from her advocacy and education posts, it’s a treat to be able to read her story in long form.
Preorder #GirlUnmasked now!

Number 7 in the Amazon best seller chart. 😭 Just felt I needed to say thank you, and also apologise for not being able to get back to everyone.

Literally cannot believe I’m on the homepage of BBC news. 😭
Thank you for all the support. #GirlUnmasked
It’s always special when an author sees their book out in the wild for the first time but this made me properly have a little weep 💜
One of those life moments I’ll never ever forget. Thank you @waterstones St Albans for being so lovely. 💖

That feeling of seeing my book for the first time! 🥹 UNBOX #GIRLUNMASKED WITH ME!
This book is both a gut punch & a delight. The way in which she writes about some big, heavy topics with such a gentle, very human elegance and still manages to bring warmth and humour into some dark times is an absolute magic trick. A brave, important and inspiring read 🧡

Six years ago I was sectioned on a children’s mental health unit. A year later, I was diagnosed with autism.
‘Girl Unmasked: How Uncovering My Autism Saved My Life’ is the story of how I got there - and how I very nearly didn’t.
Out 28 March 2024 and you can pre-order now! 🥹
But seriously… I am so excited to be doing this and I’m so proud of our team and what we’re building.
I can’t promise I’ll be any less of a chaos demon, but honestly, would you expect anything less? 😬
