Did you know the MATE desktop hasn't had a release announcement since version 1.26 in 2021? There still isn't an announcement, BUT MATE 1.28 has been official since February 12th. You can get it in places like #Fedora Rawhide, OpenMandriva Cooker and #Slackware Current. #Linux
The "About" window in the MATE Desktop Environment showing the current version of 1.28.1, and underneath, the note of "MATE is a Free, usable, stable, accessible desktop environment for the Unix-like family of operating systems."

So I let #Fedora #Rawhide with #Plasma 6 RC1 simmer for a while because after a few updates, things were very good. Well, I decided to upgrade to RC2 and beyond recently and... 7.2GB LOL. That's the entire system isn't it? #Linux
Discover in Plasma 6 with Updates listed, including Breeze GTK Theme, Freedesktop Platform, etc. with the System Upgrade set of packages looking to be 6.4GB. The entire update will be 7.2GB. KDE Plasma 6.0 RC1 is displayed at the bottom right.

Sometimes I think about the smell that used to come off the back of CRT monitors after they got warm. That was a good smell.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to upgrade to the best #Linux #Kernel ever, 6.6.6. Of course, it had to be in front of an Iron Maiden poster!🤘
