The Albanese government has forked out more than $30m to news companies, amid questions about the absence of conservative media outlets.

I realise you’re economically illiterate @JEChalmers but if you can’t admit that it’s government spending that’s turbo charging inflation and driving up interest rates then you can’t fix it. Do the right thing mate and bugger off will you.
Australia should have anticipated how incompetent that @AlboMP was back then. It’s no surprise that we are being financially smashed by @AlboMP & his @AustralianLabor cronies.
Omg. This so cringe worthy!
@AlboMP is an embarrassment to our fine country.
Australia is rightly turning against @AustralianLabor & @AlboMP .
Anthony Albanese has received some of his most brutal poll results so far as Labor fumbles its election-winning lead and voters turn against the Prime Minister. news24.com.au/politics/austr…

Labor is blaming the war for yesterday’s rate rise. The RBA isn’t.
Governor Bullock has repeatedly said inflation was already too high from domestic capacity pressures (including government spending) before the Middle East conflict, which is an added shock on top.
Australia is the clear outlier among advanced economies this year, with five rate hikes in 2026 while peers have mostly held, cut, or raised far less.
This is a Labor government with an addiction to spending that then gaslights the public about the results.

The RBA cash rate did not reach 6% under the previous Coalition government (2013–2022).
During that entire period the official cash rate target started at 2.50% and was cut in stages down to a record low of 0.10%. It never approached 6%.
The cash rate last stood at 6.00% after the emergency cut on 8 October 2008 (from 7.00%). It stayed there only briefly before the next cut on 5 November 2008 took it to 5.25%.
It had been above 6% for most of the period from mid-2006 through early October 2008 (peaking at 7.25% in March 2008). It has not returned to 6% since then.
The current cash rate (as of November 2026) is 4.85%.

Let's be clear.
*If* the RBA puts rates up further from here.
And *if* there is a recession in our near future.
The blame should fall squarely on a government that decided not to cut spending over the past three years.

BREAKING: An Afghan refugee who robbed an 80 year old grandmother and was caught with a large commercial supply of drugs in his boot has been allowed to stay in Australia by Tony Burke.
You cannot make this up.
A convicted Afghan drug courier who shamelessly scammed an 80 year old grandmother out of $2,000 has just had his visa cancellation overturned.
Instead of being booted out of Australia, he's allowed to stay.
Why? Because of the Albanese government’s disastrous “Direction 110”
rules.
Look at what Immigration Minister Tony Burke’s broken system is forcing Australians to live next door to:
DRUG KINGPIN QUANTITIES: Caught with over 3kg of MDMA, 2kg of meth, and nearly 1kg of cocaine stuffed in his boot.
ELDERLY ABUSE: Convicted of fraud for preying on and robbing an innocent 80 year old woman.
ACTIVE OFFENDER: He was literally hauled into court twice just weeks ago facing brand new drug charges during his appeal.
ZERO REMORSE: Dropped out of his required rehab and told the court he doesn't need any more drug rehabilitation.
The tribunal admitted he is a “moderate risk” to reoffend, but ruled his “ties to Australia” and “fear of the Taliban” trump the safety of Australian citizens.
Tony Burke claims “community safety comes first” but this is a total betrayal.
Labor’s character framework has turned our immigration system into an absolute joke, and everyday Australians are paying the price for their utter weakness.
How much longer can this government put foreign criminals ahead of Aussie families?

While Albanese wines and dines Billionaire Twiggy Forest in the Caribbean,Australians just suffered another catastrophic blow with an interest rate rise. Pauline Hanson didn't cause this.
This is an example of a lying @AustralianLabor SIMP . @AshPolitik , the majority of actual economists are confirming that Labor’s reckless spending & fiscal mismanagement are major contributors to all rate rises. Should we believe the economists or you 🙄

Well done @firstfusilier .
@AlboMP just cannot admit when he is wrong. Some would say that he is a pathological liar 🤥
He just can’t help himself. Here’s @AlboMP lying about what he’d just said. What is wrong with this bloke.

This is what an 38 year old Anthony Albanese voter did to a 60 year old grandfather who had the audacity to put a One Nation sign on his front lawn.
Anthony Albanese is yet to condemn the attack or tell us to “turn down the temperature” at the time of writing.
Another Economist stating that government spending is a major contributor to the latest interest rates increase. @AustralianLabor are denying that this is the case. The Labor Treasurer, who has no qualifications in finance is denying that this is the case.
