I've read so many articles lately predicting how life will be Different Forever after COVID, and they mostly don't examine how things actually are in post-lockdown countries. It feels like we should have good data. We don't need to guess, we just need to look.

Perhaps these articles will turn out to be right, or perhaps these changes have already played out abroad, but without looking (or proposing why the US will be different—length of lockdown, types of industry, culture, etc.), it feels like guesswork and recency bias.
