you have to sign up for muse. instinct changes everything. i literally handed my whole life off to town. you're seriously doing that instead of letting hermes handle it? i named my Manus agent greg. i exclusively talk to my wife via hermes. my Claude is literally chatting with the DMV right now via a voice agent. i couldn't live without my fleeb agent. you need to put fleeb on that. go sign up for fleeb. i have 10 invite codees to hand out for fleeb. fleeb is raising at a $100b valuation. fleeb is pivoting. fleeb has shut own, and we are migrating all users to flobe

I cannot reconcile Dario and Anthropic saying AI might kill us all with him being in the Dreamforce Keynote

The people closest to AI are making all of the same mistakes as the public health professionals who were closest to COVID. Taking a real risk and exaggerating it by orders of magnitude to, in part, justify the importance of their role as the people designated to stop it.
Likewise, their hysterics and lack of proportion might ruin the reputation of their field for a long time.

This is a revealing exchange -- the DSA simply will not acknowledge that left-wing dictatorships are not democracies.
🚨 DSA Co-Chairs Squirm When Pressed on Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua
This is a longer clip, but it captures the best parts of a broader discussion DSA national co-chairs Ashik Siddique and Megan Romer had with The Moment hosts Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos.
Jorge repeatedly presses them on whether Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua are dictatorships. They repeatedly avoid giving him a direct answer.
Romer eventually responds that “Cubans have access to their democracy in a way that we do not,” pointing to Cuba’s 2022 Family Code referendum as evidence. That referendum was only four years ago, making it an especially curious answer to Jorge Ramos repeatedly pressing her on decades without multiparty elections.
Ashik Siddique fares little better. Asked whether Cuba is a dictatorship, he pivots to the U.S. embargo and the state of American politics, responding that “it’s hard for us to judge other countries being dictatorships when we have Donald Trump as president.”
Paola eventually steps in and identifies the problem at hand. DSA can be anti-imperialist without becoming apologists for these regimes. They should still be able to recognize and explain what makes them authoritarian.
When it comes to international politics, DSA is often at its most revealing. Siddique and Romer are not even among the organization’s most die-hard internationalists. This is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how radical DSA’s international politics can get.

Don’t be surprised that Mamdani—a man for whom a Judenrein Middle East is his political lodestar—also wants a Judenrein NYC. About 45% of NYC lawyers are Jewish. The odds of selecting 18 NYC lawyers at random and ending up with a panel containing no Jews are 0.55 to the 18th power—or roughly one chance in 47,149.
And it’s not about “Zionism.” There are plenty of anti-Zionist Jewish lawyers he could have picked, including thousands who, to their shame, voted for him. It’s about Jews. He hates Jews. It's not complex.

The Mayor of New York, home to the largest Jewish population in the world, releases a video that serves absolutely no purpose but to demonize the world’s only Jewish state.
The same day, a Jewish man is shoved to the ground by an individual shouting antisemitic slurs. Two days later, another Jewish man is stabbed outside a synagogue in one of the city’s most identifiably Jewish neighborhoods. The second assailant reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar.”
Do you get it yet?

Mamdani will release some statement about how he doesn’t tolerate antisemitism and violence has no place in our city, but all of us knew his leadership would ultimately result in violence against us. And hours after this imminent BS statement, he’ll go back to calling us genocidal, never acknowledging why we’re the ones getting stabbed by people screaming terrorist slogans

I remember this system where, in order to “smooth relationships” with the government and allow your company to operate, one had to give the government a controlling stake in successful companies.
It was how the Eastern Block & USSR operated.
Not a controlling stake, but damn:

The NYT says Adam Back wrote Bitcoin. The code says otherwise. I compared Bitcoin v0.1's actual source code against other top candidates across 12 stylometric traits — naming conventions, comment style, indentation, platform, class prefixes.
Adam Back scores 1/12. He writes C, not C++ like Satoshi. He writes for Unix, not Windows like Satoshi.
He also uses snake_case, tabs, and /* block comments */. Satoshi uses CamelCase, 4-space indent, // comments, and MFC-style C class prefixes.
The closest match? A Gnutella P2P developer from Australia named Michael Stokes (11/12) who I got into lots of arguments with back in the Gnutella days over Gnutella protocol evolution. He used the exact same Windows MFC conventions, Hungarian notation, and even British English spellings in his code.
