I normally listen to electronic music with few or repeating lyrics when needing to focus, but I've found that a looping Gregorian chant also does the trick! open.spotify.com/track/0xUL1…

software maximalist.
one who believes that software is proliferating faster than ever and the demand for it will be higher than ever
enterprise saas products are still operating like its 2020 are in for a rude awakening if they don't shift their modus operandi.
treating customers as hostile witnesses for basic functionality
those days are gone
moving incredibly slowly through account reps and sales just to get a trial
those days are gone
your software is going to be cloned 1000x over and sold for 1/3 the cost.
just evaluated support tools,
bake off between intercom.com, pylon.com, plain.com and unthread.io
crazy amount of friction and difficulty to get paying and onboarding,
every tool felt clunky and aging. the one that didn't was super buggy and support was hostile.
these tools are all cooked.
basic chat widget and slack channels management and ai responses.
every saas guy out there right now is looking at your products
then calculating the token cost to roll your own from scratch.
even normies are rolling their own.
the solution is unclear.
but make no mistake, you MUST change, fast.
thankfully you don't have a say in the matter!
My H-1B experience:
- Worked at a startup, (willingly) earned less than I could have at bigger Silicon Valley companies…
- …but got paid the same as my American coworkers.
Later started a company creating jobs in the US and globally.
Paid millions in taxes over these 14 years. I’d call that a net positive for the US.
A startup paying qualified foreigners (and Americans) a little less because it’s running on fumes isn’t the problem. Outsourcing firms exploiting the H-1B visas are.
secure the bag!
I’ve officially figured out the difference between @klaviyo, @omnisend, & @Mailchimp
Klaviyo is the rich kid whose parents bought them a BMW at 16.
Mailchimp is the kid who reminds the teacher there was homework due.
Omnisend is the kid who worked two jobs in high school, helped their parents pay the mortgage, and still showed up to your party with a 30 pack and two bags of ice.
Klaviyo doesn’t return shopping carts.
Mailchimp calls the cops on your lemonade stand.
Omnisend helps an elderly woman load groceries into her trunk.
I spent an unreasonable amount of time on this whiteboard as you can tell.
Anyways, this is not a sponsored post, it’s just investigative journalism.

Most domestic recycling efforts are empirically retarded, counterproductive, and require you don't value your time. Their real function is to fill the God-shaped hole, sized for penance, prayer, and sacrifice, in people's souls. wsj.com/opinion/most-recycli…

"We're about to see an absolute bloom in software development as the price of development plummets and everyone realizes how much automation we still have left to do in this world... Don't go down with the pencils. There's so much to build. We need you." world.hey.com/dhh/over-my-de…

Replying to @MagcDev
Have you considered that being optimistic was part of the equation that produced the millions? They didn't spawn in my account at conception 😄
OP looks nice - might consider crown above the cabinets and open space above so it doesn't feel blocky.
our WIP - what do you think?
correct
I honestly don’t care at all that I spend 30 years of my life learning syntax and now that knowledge is essentially useless.
Frankly, I’m relieved that I don’t need to care about it anymore. That stuff never really mattered anyways. Code was always just a means to an end.
All I care about is building products that users love. Now I can do that faster. That means I can have bigger impact.
If anything, software engineers should all be celebrating. I don’t understand why you’d “mourn” not needing to write code. The code was never the point.
