So much to say, and I will, about our time at city hall these past four years. But for now, as I down a few and go into the new Year… “The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die…” Happy New Year!

This was not about harvesting olives. It was about harvesting headlines. Brad Lander’s latest stunt is nothing more than a calculated political provocation. Lander traveled to a foreign country, deliberately entered a restricted security area, and participated in an unauthorized activity without the required coordination. What makes this stunt even more outrageous is that his own team contacted Israeli representatives in the United States ahead of his visit and was explicitly informed that proper coordination with the relevant authorities was required. He chose to ignore those instructions. At a time of heightened security tensions, Israeli security forces have a responsibility to protect lives, prevent dangerous incidents, and maintain public order. Had anyone been injured as a result of his reckless political theater, Lander would undoubtedly have been among the first to demand that Israeli authorities intervene and provide protection. Brad Lander came looking for a confrontation. Now he is pretending to be its victim.

This *1000
My main problem with @bradlander is his worldview. But a secondary issue is his clownishness. I totally get why @NYCMayor didn’t want to see Lander at City Hall every day and passed him over for a job.

If Brad Lander had actually been detained by the IDF - he would not be on the bus, would not have his phone to take a selfie, would not have been able to tweet, take it down, re post, and do another video, and alert his NY based friends for support almost all in real-time...

Incitement Invective & Illusion. The three i’s of BDS.
Today, Brad Lander, rabbis, and other New Yorkers accompanied Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. For that, they were detained by the Israeli government.  Harvesting olives is not illegal. The occupation is. I am thankful that Brad has been released. But other New Yorkers remain detained, and they must be released immediately. The same Israeli government detaining them has committed a horrific genocide against Palestinians, killing more than 74,000 people over the last few years alone.  The detention of these New Yorkers must end. The occupation must end. The genocide must end.

Seriously, everything Julie said...
My favorite micro-museum is also the best book party venue. A story on that locale, which also happens to perfectly capture the one and only @stuloeser, a truly iconic New Yorker. curbed.com/article/stu-loese…

If a past administration did this, they would be screaming from the pied-a-terre rooftops...

Liar. He was born October 1984. Paula Abdul’s first album was June 1988. Hmm
2018. While running for Governor, Abdul El-Sayed says that his parents chose the name Abdul because Paula Abdul was popular at the time.

Twitter is funny, opened the app this morning: Righty Jews, leaders and organizations who never stop telling everyone that Jared Kushner was a genius for the Abraham Accords all simultaneously assuming he needs their help in procuring proper teffilin for his son's bar mitzvah

Lefties who can't seem to handle the fact that Jessie Tisch owned them last night at the Al Smith dinner. She was in a room they will never be in, in a job they will never have (nor have any influence in who has it) with a sense of humor that can't fit in their safe spaces.

too bad the hard left doesn’t have a sense of humor…
Replying to @C_Sommerfeldt
This marks the first time Tisch has publicly addressed the mounting calls for ouster. She also says: "There’s a lot of talk these days that the mayor’s friends don’t like me. That is simply not true. President Trump and I get along great.”

Mayor Mamdani hasn’t taken questions from NYC press corps since his DSA pals started to call for Commissioner Tisch to be fired in wake of ICE shooting. Today he cancelled his gaggle an hour before reporters had to arrive

Great tribute. The 85’ Bears were the 86’Mets before they were the 86’ Mets. Pure domination. All bravado. And the best. RIP Ditka.

A Zionist institution and a non-Zionist institution targeted with bomb threats. This is what incendiary rhetoric against Jews (of any kind) incites.
🚨 Security/Bomb threats at two different Jewish schools in Brooklyn. One morning. @NYCMayor this isn’t a coincidence based on the timing of your criticisms of 10/7. Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School is in a full lockdown. The school told parents the NYPD is on scene for a suspicious situation and asked families not to come to the building. At the same time, V’yol Moshe at 590 Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg was evacuated over a reported bomb threat. Bedford Avenue is closed. The Bomb Squad was requested. Kids are out. Reported by Williamsburg 365 News. This is the second time this week of school threats in this city. Tuesday it was 5 different public schools from Dyker Heights, Upper East Side, and Queens. Today it is yeshivas. Parents: stay off the buildings until the schools and the NYPD say otherwise. A crowd does not help a lockdown. No device confirmed. No all-clear yet. Charge whoever called these in. @NYPD90Pct @NYPDnews
