Cybersecurity awareness has long focused on teaching employees how to spot social engineering and business email compromise. But what happens when AI agents gain the authority to move money, access systems, and make decisions on behalf of organizations? We spoke with experts about how AI can be "socially engineered," how defenders can detect manipulated actions, and what companies should be doing now to secure agentic AI. Read more: bit.ly/4rT63rG

JUST IN: President Trump says he's monitoring Hurricane Isaias "very closely." The president made the remarks after stepping off Marine One following his return from a rally in New York. Asked what message he has for Americans bracing for the hurricane, Trump assured them his administration is closely tracking the storm and said he believes officials have the situation under control.

Some private equity-backed providers are exploiting a loophole in the No Surprises Act, driving up healthcare costs and leaving families with the bill. President Trump can act now to end the fraud, waste, and abuse. It's time for reform to deliver real relief for real families.

I was thinking about this the other day: I put off learning Powershell long enough that now I don't have to, and its an incredibly powerful CLI for AIs to operate against... It's way too verbose for regular humans, but perfect for an AI!
Cloudflare’s new cf CLI has more than 2,900 commands and is explicitly designed so coding agents can discover the right command from a plain-English task. That’s an interesting shift. CLIs used to be designed around humans learning commands. Now we’re starting to design them for software to operate software.

The Europeans (EUMETSAT) charge $6000 for visible satellite data over Europe. NOAA is free. The Not-Free land of UK doesn’t even really offer access to radar. NOAA is free. Privatize the US radar system and watch everything become a paywall. How much do we charge users for our FREE weather apps when we as providers have to pay $500,000 a year to get data? Instead of privatizing, we should elect politicians who seek to steer and fund NOAA/NWS operations efficiently. Yes, NWS probably needs to revise some operations, but that takes leadership from inside and out. Unfortunately, we haven’t had any elected leaders who give a shit for quite some time. Please do not encourage privatization of these things. The grass is not greener on the other side. Not everyone makes $300,000-$600,000 a year like many of the TV meteorologists do pushing for things like this. Us normal people cannot afford privatization.
The need for privatization of radars and a radar network has never been more glaring. (Red means radar is down) Thank God it’s not a severe situation, however flooding and the need for rainfall rates is bad enough. This will likely go undocumented except for what official observation sights tell us. We need to advance this area of our weather enterprise.

The radars themselves are working, but their data is not being sent out due to a fiber outage, according to the National Weather Service, who says they still have access to the data. al.com/weather/2026/1… walb.com/2026/10/05/nws…
