Gotta hand it to the bad guys - hitting children and farmers at the same time is almost impressive!

This would be a good moment for Democrats to say something like "we won't let this happen."
The Trump admin is moving forward on plans to impose financial penalties on Americans in default on their federal student loans and hire private debt collectors to go after them.
The plans are unlikely to be announced until after the midterms. washingtonsun.com/economy/tr…

There is absolutely no logical reason why someone who has a mortgage should pay property tax while someone who owns their house outright should not.
"I own my house, therefore I shouldn't pay property tax" is a total non sequitur.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?”
Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

Scoop: Healthcare.gov premiums for benchmark plans are set to rise 11% on average in 2027. It's the 2nd year in a row for double-digit spikes but not nearly as bad as last yr's 30%. Insurer participation is down 14%. washingtonsun.com/health/aca…

Huge hole blown in drug regulation. There's a quote in this story that calls this a victory for "medical freedom." But to me a system that disincentivizes the study of whether medicines work or not & what their side effects are before they are sold is NOT freedom.
NEW: Kennedy's HHS has submitted an “interim access policy” on peptides to the White House, moving ahead with an effort to ease access to the unproven injectables favored by wellness influencers.

Are you interested in health reform?
Do you think I do good work and am important to winning the fight for M4A? Should I stay in the movement?

Some news for reporters from this trip — Whip Katherine Clark told me she is “looking for the opportunity to have weekly communication with press” if she is majority leader.
She’s working out the details, but it might include a weekly pen and pad or press conference.
NEW: I traveled with Whip Katherine Clark during a swing through Ohio last week.
In an interview we talked:
- Medicare for All
- Israel aid
- Whether she is leadership’s “enforcer”
- The incoming crop of progressives
“This isn’t going to be my-way-or-the-highway from any one given group,” she told me.

Thank a Republican.
The price of the fuel, used by farmers and truckers, is up more than 75% since the start of the Iran war in late winter. Diesel costs have become a particular concern for economists, who say higher diesel fuel costs trickle down into “just about everything.” nbcnews.com/business/economy…

I am interested in interviewing nursing home residents or former nursing home residents about voting rights and voter access for an upcoming news article. Is that you or a loved one? DM or email sluterman at 19thnews dot org.
It legit bums me out to see so many cruel GOP physicians in government. They’re harming the profession & patients.

“a shared national faith in the constitution” 😮💨
At event in Muskegon, an attendee in a shirt that looked inspired by the Knights Templar shirt (Red cross on white) interrupts @AbdulElSayed. The man says he voted for Biden but questions El-Sayed because “his book says something different than my book.”
El-Sayed tells his staff to let the man speak, also answers that the book that matters in this election & in Congress is the constitution.
After he man is led out, El-Sayed eventually says that “a shared national faith in the constitution” means that these things “should not divide us.”
