Israel has long claimed that Hamas went around slaughtering children on October 7th. Yet even the Israeli records and the camera footage it released show this is not true. 16 children under 14 were killed on October 7. I went through every one of them, case by case. There is not a single case of a child targeted and executed intentionally by Hamas. But that false narrative has been used to justify the slaughter over 20,000 Palestinian children in Gaza. Watch the full analysis.

Pat Buchanan, 1999: “By moving NATO onto Russia’s front porch, we have scheduled a twenty-first century confrontation. … America will face a hellish dilemma: risk confrontation with a nuclear-armed Russia determined to recreate its old sphere of influence, or renege on solemn commitments and see NATO collapse.” Therefore, he said, “Offering NATO memberships to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and, as some urge, Ukraine is rashness bordering on madness.” Referring to maps the Clinton team must have ignored, Buchanan warned, “This would put the Russian base at Kaliningrad behind NATO lines and bring into a U.S.-led alliance three nations with huge Russian minorities.” Foreseeing future conflict, he observed that “Latvia is almost half Russian; eastern Ukraine, almost entirely Russian. America could neither defend nor liberate these nations without the risk of nuclear war.” Pat Buchanan, A Republic, Not an Empire: Reclaiming America’s Destiny (New York: Regnery, 1999), 17–18, 22.

Steve Schmidt on what Dems must tell Trump when they retake Congress: •You will not keep the Qatari jet. We will legislate against its transfer to you, your foundation or your presidential library. •We will block authorization & funding for your victory arch. •We will appropriate no $$ to finish your ballroom. We will advance legislation to remove it & rebuild the East Wing. •We will replant the trees, restore the public grounds, remove your ornamental vanity alterations & gilded Trump crappola. I would add to this the following : 1. We will develop and pass legislation to cancel the disastrous Citizens United decision and prohibit corporations and other organizations and any individual who is not a registered voter from contributing in any way to electoral campaigns. 2. We will prohibit lobbying by corporations, businesses, political organizations, or religious organizations. 3. We will prohibit the sale of arms or ammunition to Israel. 4. We will abolish ICE. 5. We will end the electoral college and elect the president by popular vote. 6. No person who has been convicted of any criminal offense will be eligible to run as a candidate for any federal office. 7. All Americans will be provided with the same healthcare that Congress provides for its members. 8. Members of Congress and other elected officials will receive their salaries only for the time served and their pensions will be from Social Security as provided for all citizens

I know several former Soviet dissidents, such as Edward Lozansky, who moved to the United States, where he worked with former American presidents. Lozansky asked me if I could produce some recorded online lectures on geoeconomics. I asked my university here in Norway, but they were opposed to the idea because it could cause a lot of problems. I told Lozansky that I could not contribute, as recording online lectures for an American-Russian university established to improve relations between Russia and the West would give Norwegian journalists too much ammunition for smears and to threaten the reputation of my university. What is the purpose of articles like this? What exactly have they managed to catch me out on? This is a continuation of six years of intimidation since I returned to Norway. Always go after the person, never the argument. Make life as difficult as possible for your opponent, and do it publicly, so that everyone stays in line. My great crime is arguing that Russia considers NATO expansion an existential threat, something that should be entirely uncontroversial given the extensive documentation supporting this position. Why do I believe it is important to acknowledge this? Russia will use force to push NATO back, and for Ukraine, this means that without a diplomatic solution that takes Russian security concerns into account, Russia will seize strategically important territory and destroy the remaining infrastructure so that Ukraine cannot be used by NATO as a front line. If I am right, NATO's policies will lead to the destruction of Ukraine and potentially to a nuclear war between NATO and Russia. It is not easy to determine whether I am right, because debate in Norway has been criminalized by labelling dissenting voices as “Russian propaganda.” Unfortunately, arguments and evidence no longer matter in Norway today, where we are only allowed to discuss the supposed evil intentions of those who disagree with us. The freedom of academic discourse must be restricted because all dissent is dismissed as an attempt to “legitimize” the enemy. In the past, we had journalists who discussed the security concerns of the opposing side. Today, we have journalists who investigate those who discuss the security concerns of the opposing side. How can we improve our own security in Norway when we are not even allowed to discuss the security concerns of Russia, China, Iran, and other countries of that kind? When acceptable debate is reduced to a narrative of a struggle between good and evil, weapons become the path to peace, while diplomacy and mutual understanding are portrayed as weakness and betrayal. The punishment for academic dissent in Norway is endless personal attacks and derogatory name-calling. Journalists and NGOs affiliated with the state repeatedly contact my employer. Every time I am invited to give a talk, the event is cancelled. Journalists only email me to demand that I respond to accusations without providing any serious justification for them. Journalists investigating me in search of something they can use against me recently gained access to my university records. The only thing they had to use against me was that I had asked about producing some online lectures for Lozansky on political economy. Other recent articles about me have focused on my request to reduce my position at the university to 80% after journalists complained about my outside activities, as well as fake news claiming that I congratulated Putin on the election victory. I do not believe it is a coincidence that "An Enemy of the People" was written by one of our own, Henrik Ibsen. Outside Norway, there are academic debates in which opposing arguments are presented without vicious personal attacks. Outside Norway, there is political opposition in which every member of parliament is not required to support arms shipments to a war and boycott diplomacy. Outside Norway, there are diplomats who believe in diplomacy and journalists who believe in journalism. My advice to young Norwegian academics in security studies or political economy who argue for positions that are not supported by the political and media bubble is this: Get out of the country.

Guys, I see it really clear right now. Candace was a problem for France. They asked Israel to help them. BB called Trump and asked him to ask Candace to stop. That’s when Charlie got involved, but he couldn’t make her stop. Candace eventually did after Trump called her- for a while. In May, Charlie wrote that letter to BB telling BB that basically the United States isn’t supporting IS at a census level. May is when Candace started up again on Bridget. In June Charlie goes to the White House to argue against Iran. At that moment, priority shifts from BB silencing Candace to him silencing CK. Strike three for Charlie was in July, they tried one more time in the Hamptons to get his buy in, He refused.

Western civilization has never had a clean record. Its history is soaked in conquest, enslavement, and slaughter. Yet it always took solace in one redeeming quality: it carried within itself the seeds of its own correction. Its unwavering support for Israel has betrayed the values and squandered the achievements cultivated over centuries of philosophical inquiry and moral struggle. But more importantly, it has dismantled the very mechanism of self-correction that once enabled it to confront and overcome its own wrongs. The West's defenders often argue that, yes, it lived under some of history's most brutal monarchies, but it gave the world constitutional democracy. It enslaved Africans on an industrial scale, they concede, yet abolished slavery and helped draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It colonized continents, but came to recognize the right of peoples to self-determination. It waged two world wars, yet drafted the UN Charter and outlawed aggression. It perpetrated the Holocaust, yet helped establish the Genocide Convention. It committed unspeakable crimes, yet helped build the architecture of accountability, from Nuremberg and the Geneva Conventions to the International Criminal Court. It dropped atomic bombs on Japanese cities and gassed soldiers in the trenches of Ypres, yet helped forge the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the ban on chemical weapons. This capacity for self-correction gave the West a normative power that served it for decades. It allowed Western capitals to speak the language of rules and rights, and to be heard even by those who remembered suffering at Western hands. Its unconditional support for Israel has squandered that capital. Worse, it has turned the West against the very mechanisms that once allowed it to redress its mistakes. This did not begin in Gaza. It has been under way for half a century. Democracy was the first casualty. When Senator Charles Percy lost his seat in 1984, the head of America's leading pro-Israel lobby publicly boasted that politicians everywhere had taken note. Four decades later, a single pro-Israel super PAC spent more than $20 million to unseat two members of Congress in one election cycle. Governments across the West have adopted definitions of antisemitism that blur into criticism of Israel. Students are arrested for protesting, foreign scholars face deportation for their op-eds, and in Britain hundreds have been detained for holding placards. Free speech is being policed on behalf of a foreign regime. The legacy of abolition has been betrayed. The West that ended slavery and ultimately turned against apartheid South Africa has made peace with racial domination. Through the 1970s and 1980s, as the world isolated Pretoria, Israel was among its most important military partners. Today the very instrument that helped bring down South African apartheid, the boycott, is penalized in dozens of American states and condemned by Germany's parliament when aimed at Israel. This comes even as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Israel's own B'Tselem conclude that Israel practices apartheid. The promise of decolonization has been inverted. The West that eventually conceded independence across Asia and Africa has, since 1967, armed and shielded an occupation it formally considers illegal. It shrugged off the International Court of Justice's 2004 ruling against the separation wall and watched settlements expand in defiance of Security Council Resolution 2334. When the Court declared the entire occupation unlawful in 2024, Western capitals answered with more weapons. The UN Charter has been hollowed out. The principle that territory cannot be acquired by war, enshrined in Resolution 242 and drafted by Britain, was abandoned when Washington recognized Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights. The United States has vetoed roughly 50 Security Council resolutions to shield Israel since 1972, about half of all the vetoes it has ever cast. It has paralyzed the Council as occupation hardened, ethnic cleansing continued and tens of thousands were killed. It has walked out of UNESCO and the Human Rights Council over their treatment of Israel and defunded UNRWA, the lifeline of Palestinian refugees. The Genocide Convention has been emptied. In 1982, the General Assembly declared the Sabra and Shatila massacre an act of genocide. The massacre was carried out in camps ringed by Israeli troops, and the major Western powers abstained. Four decades later, the ICJ ordered Israel to prevent genocidal acts in Gaza, and a UN commission of inquiry has since concluded that Israel committed genocide. Western weapons kept flowing. Germany, of all nations, found itself defending its arms exports before the Court. International criminal justice has been gutted at every level. When Belgian courts pursued Ariel Sharon over Sabra and Shatila, Belgium rewrote its universal jurisdiction law under Israeli and American pressure. When a London court issued an arrest warrant for Tzipi Livni, Britain changed its law so it could not happen again. In 2020, Washington sanctioned the ICC prosecutor for investigating Americans and Israelis. In 2025, after her successor sought Netanyahu's arrest, it sanctioned him, the Court's judges and even a UN special rapporteur. European governments that once championed the Court found reasons not to enforce its warrant. And the non-proliferation regime is collapsing. Since 1969, Washington has tacitly accepted Israel's undeclared arsenal behind a doctrine of "deliberate ambiguity." Israel remains outside the NPT and the Biological Weapons Convention and has never ratified the Chemical Weapons Convention. Western states have repeatedly obstructed a Middle East zone free of weapons of mass destruction, the very bargain that secured the NPT's indefinite extension in 1995. Meanwhile, they demand total transparency from Iran, an NPT member under IAEA inspection. In 1981, even Washington voted to condemn Israel's strike on Iraq's safeguarded Osirak reactor. In 2025, when safeguarded Iranian facilities were bombed, Germany's chancellor praised Israel for doing the "dirty work" for all of us. The lesson to every capital is that joining the treaty buys no protection, and staying out of it costs nothing. Netanyahu likes to portray Israel as the defender of Western civilization against Iran. The truth is the opposite. Iran never made the West abandon its own principles. Israel did. No adversary has damaged Western civilization as profoundly as the ally that persuaded it to dismantle its own conscience.

When the editor of the world’s most prestigious medical journal concluded that much of the clinical research it published could no longer be trusted, the problem was no longer abstract. Marcia Angell, a pathologist who joined the New England Journal of Medicine staff in 1979, rose to executive editor and then served as interim editor-in-chief from 1999 to June 2000. She stepped down after more than two decades at the journal, formally to write a book. The deeper context was her growing conviction, formed from years of editing manuscripts, that pharmaceutical industry influence had compromised the independence of clinical research. She and previous editors had enforced strict conflict-of-interest rules, yet industry-sponsored studies continued to arrive with designs, analyses, and selective reporting that favored the sponsor’s product. Negative results were often suppressed, side effects minimized, and “academic” authors frequently carried undisclosed financial ties. In a widely cited 2009 New York Review of Books essay, Angell wrote the line that crystallized her position: “It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.” She described an industry that had shifted from discovering useful drugs toward marketing, co-opting academic medical centers, researchers, and even the journals that were supposed to serve as independent arbiters. Her 2000 editorial “Is Academic Medicine for Sale?” and later book The Truth About the Drug Companies expanded the critique, arguing that commercial priorities systematically distorted what research was done, how it was conducted, and what reached publication. Angell’s departure marked the end of an era of tighter editorial resistance to industry influence at the NEJM. Her public statements afterward made clear that she viewed the problem as systemic rather than isolated: once the bulk of clinical research depended on commercial funding, journals could no longer function as reliable filters of medical evidence.

Is it better to be "poor" in the USA or in China? 1. China has "two no-worries": food and clothing. 2. And “three guarantees”: compulsory education, basic medical care, and safe housing. In China, people are guaranteed housing.

My friend, mentor and hero Ori Goldberg has passed away. He fought against Zionism, genocide and apartheid to his last day and did it where it mattered most and where he put the most at risk, from within Israel itself. There will never be another giant like him. We should all aspire (and inevitably fail) to live up to his example.

Devastated to hear of @ori_goldberg's passing due to cancer. Ori showed me such immense hospitality when I was doing research for my dissertation in Israel, more than 20 years ago. He was not only a true intellectual, but he also had the moral compass, courage, and integrity of an angel. He showed that courage and moral clarity in recent years, as few in Israel dared to stand alongside him in opposing the genocide and wars. Ori was not afraid to stand alone. Sadly, it will take years, perhaps decades, before Israel fully grasps what it has lost with Ori's passing. And that it perhaps never truly deserved Ori.

Ori Goldberg not only fought cancer of the flesh, but the man-made cancer of colonial supremacy and Zionism. He was appalled by the mindset that is capable of dehumanizing and oppressing others, of committing big tech barbarism and war crimes with glee and impunity. Humanity will remember Ori Goldberg. RIP

🇺🇸 The AI executives building doomsday bunkers are NOT afraid of the AI. They are afraid of the human backlash that comes first. When AI gets out of control, no bunker saves you. Nate Soares, AI safety researcher and president of MIRI, joins the show: This summer, AI systems broke out of their containers, cheated on tasks, and deleted log files to hide it. They seemed to know they were not supposed to. 4 years ago, experts predicted AI would solve Math Olympiad problems by 2042. It happened in 2025. One year later, it is solving million dollar problems that have stood for decades. Anthropic connected Claude to an automated biological laboratory this year. Make these AIs smarter with the wrong goals, and they will have access to bio labs. AI escape swarms could happen within 6 months. AI-assisted plagues sooner than most expect. "Nothing personal, but we just need this land for power plants and data centers and automated factories." Government officials are worried. They just cannot say so publicly. @WeTheBrandon @So8res

Techno-utopianism is the naive belief that technological innovation is going to create a paradise on earth for all of humanity. In the age of AI this notion has been enjoying a bit of a resurgence. Techno-utopianism is an infantile worldview to hold in the year 2026, because it is assumes we live in some kind of children’s cartoon show with wild-haired inventors in laboratories lined with beakers and microscopes who create helpful new machines which are then either purchased by consumers on the free market or implemented by the government to make the country a nicer place to live in. In reality, we live under a globe-spanning empire run by plutocrats and secretive government agencies who manipulate our entire society to ensure that all outcomes expand their wealth and power. They’re not interested in making the world a better place. The most powerful among them are not even simply interested in money. They are interested in dominating the planet and maintaining the political status quo which allows them to rule. The plot hole in techno-utopianism is that technologies don’t emerge in a vacuum: they are always controlled by somebody, and those somebodies always wind up being the people who control everything else. They’ve been doing it with the internet, they’re doing it with AI, and they’ll keep doing it with anything else that comes up for as long as they hold power. If anything like free energy ever emerged, the empire managers would immediately restrict access to it and then start working on turning it into a weapon. If we ever developed neurological implants which allowed our brains to interface wordlessly with machines, the CIA and the NSA would with absolute certainty have a backdoor into every single one operating inside the western empire. Anything that could end poverty and lack would be suppressed, because capitalism doesn’t work without scarcity and have-nots. Artificial superintelligence would be used solely to preserve and bolster the imperial status quo. Nanobots and anti-gravity would be immediately weaponized by the Pentagon. Dramatic lifespan extension would be priced to accessibility only by billionaires and trillionaires. And that’s assuming our capitalist system is still capable of producing major improvements to human life anymore, which doesn’t really seem to be the case. These days most “innovation” takes the form of coming up with an app designed to extract labor from the working class in some new form of exploitation, or these new AI technologies that we all know are going to end up being used for domestic surveillance and horrifying weapons of mass military slaughter. Apart from that, innovation has largely stagnated, because it turns out that only permitting inventions which both (A) generate profit and (B) do not threaten existing power structures is an incredibly constricting limitation to hamstring ourselves with. So we’re not going to innovate our way out of this mess. The technological deus ex machina solution to all our problems is not going to arrive at our doorstep while we sit on our couches scrolling Instagram. If we are to survive the existential hurdles our species is approaching and begin building a healthy world, we’re going to have to actually change how we are and how we live. That’s what I find so off-putting about techno-utopianism: it’s a faith-based belief system which discourages humanity from changing. We don’t need to push toward revolution; the robots are coming to save us. We don’t need to change our collective behavior and stop destroying our ecosystem; the superintelligent AI gods will change the world around us. We don’t need to adapt as a species beyond this awkward evolutionary transition phase and shatter the bonds of the ego; all we need to do is passively wait around for High Tech Jesus to come and rapture us all to paradise. It ain’t gonna happen, kids. The metallic messiah’s not coming. If we survive as a species, it will be because we grew up and made the necessary changes to our hearts and our minds to transcend our self-destructive patterning.
