A little island

What happens when an island keeps growing, but its resources don’t? A little data visualization experiment exploring Ibiza’s evolution over the past 25 years. Population, tourism, money, water, waste, and natural resources. More visitors. More revenue. More pressure. But is growth always progress? This is the kind of interaction design that makes you want to open your editor immediately. Such a beautiful piece of interaction design.
webgpu for the win! The splats run so smoothly. A demo I built of a portal cube with some cool parallax (each scene was generated via world labs).

Asked Grok Bot to build itself an Apple Vision Pro app. I now have interactive bots that I can talk to and place around my apartment.

An important skill in the AI era, next to knowing what to build, is knowing what to consume. AI tools are so powerful that you can absorb ideas and insights from more people than ever before. Knowing who is worth listening to is a very valuable skill these days.

One thing I love about AI right now is how easy it’s becoming to build your own tools. Needed a live ETH gas notifier. So I built one. No massive product roadmap. Just solving small problems, one tool at a time.

Been building small tools for things I find useful. First one: an ETH gas tracker with price notifications. More widgets coming soon. Exploring how far I can take building my own tools with AI. What other crypto tools would be worth building? #Ethereum #ETH

I think we’re entering an interesting era of UX. For years, we’ve been designing around what developers could build. Now, with AI, the technical barrier is getting smaller. The interesting question isn’t “Can we build it?” It’s “Should we?”

i built a website where you can sit at elizabeth holmes’ desk open her macbook, scroll her iphone, run the theranos edison machine her texts, emails, slides, documents, and theranos machine records are real, sourced from exhibits in the united states v. holmes criminal trial

We’re entering the era of the personal software stack. Why keep searching for the perfect tool when you can just build it? Been experimenting with Claude Opus 5.5 and created my own ETH gas tracker using real-time blockchain data.

No bloated dashboards. No unnecessary features. Just live data, a clean interface and exactly what I need. The crazy part? The gap between “I wish this existed” and “I built it” is getting ridiculously small.

We’ve spent years adapting our workflows to software. Now software can adapt to us. AI isn’t just making coding faster. It’s making building accessible to everyone. Stop collecting tools. Start creating your own stack.

AI levelling the field so only the real problem solvers can prevail
This is the step a lot of designers are mourning as well.

Perfect example of how AI should be used:
AI is letting me build all the little things I always wished software could do 🥲

How do you make data visualisation actually fun? Not just charts you look at, but data you want to explore, play with and get curious about. So… have you ever wondered how many people have died on Everest? I turned that question into a little experiment

Everest felt like the perfect dataset to experiment with. Altitude, time, routes, expeditions, and the people who never made it back. Instead of treating those as rows in a table, I wanted the mountain itself to become the interface. You explore the data by exploring Everest.

That’s the part I find exciting about data visualisation. It doesn’t always have to be about finding the clearest chart. Sometimes it can be about curiosity, interaction and storytelling; turning information into something you discover rather than something you’re simply shown. Just experimenting :)
