The real question you should ask is...
How much of this is inflation, and how much is extra profits for greedy bastards.

So you want to stop disabled people from voting, even if they can't work through no fault of their own? Also, good luck taking the votes away from fully retired pensioners, or people who have taken early retirement.
To be honest Steve, it's a shit idea. I would even recommend going back to the drawing board, just scrap it completely
Replying to @KEdge23
100% agree. Rhe lazy bone idle scroungers now control the Country.
Only working people should have a vote
We are supposed to be a democracy, aren't we?

Worth noting that while Johnson and Hancock deservedly get much of the flak for this deadly failure, the minister who failed to protect the care sector was Helen Whately - who is now the Tory shadow minister pushing draconian benefit reforms
Private water companies are working extra hard to convince the public not to nationalise them

"Anglian Water fined £1.6M for polluting River Brain in Essex."
Over the last 15 years Anglian Water has been found guilty of 79 different environmental offences and already paid almost £5 million in fines. Has any of it made any difference whatsoever? Of course not.
Perhaps later this morning the @CommonsEFRA would like to ask the polluters why.

"Water bills face £40 hike if sector is downgraded, industry chief warns."
Yet more nonsense from the Ministry of Truth that is the water industry lobbying arm. @MarkKleinmanSky
Over the next 5 years water companies will spend £104 billion. Just £14 billion of that money is coming from shareholders but oh wait, shareholders are then taking £13 billion back again by way of dividends leaving a total of £91 billion that's actually getting invested.
Guess who's funding £90 billion of that, yes, 99% of the so called total investment? Yep you, the bill payer, not the shareholders, not the bond market, you.
Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?
Another thing for the @CommonsEFRA committee to ask the lobbyists this morning.

It peaked in 2023 under the Tory Gov. at 944 000

Even though numbers are falling returns & removals are up 52% at circa 80 000

A Critical Moment to Protect Antarctic Wildlife
Governments will soon meet to decide the future of one of the most precious places on Earth
The Antarctic Peninsula is the centre of an industrial krill fishery Krill may be small, but they are the lifeblood of the Southern Ocean for whales, penguins, seabirds and countless other species
Yet, fishing vessels are increasingly targeting the same feeding grounds that wildlife depends on to survive

I don’t think people understand that global warming doesn’t mean “no cold weather ever.” It means a warming planet destabilizes weather patterns, causing more extreme weather. This has been explained for decades and people still don’t get it.
