Incident info: Homeless debris fire under eastbound I-80 west of Norwood Ave. multiple engines and a water tender were needed due to no hydrants in the vicinity . Decking of the freeway is not damaged. No injuries reported.

Like it or not, wildfire is the only thing achieving landscape-scale fuel reduction on Federal lands in the West. Prescribed fire is a great tool, but we aren't going to see landscape-scale burning projects in forests without a major sea-change. /4
