Our community has grown to over 4500 members and nearly 200 contributors, a testament to community dedication and effort.
Product Highlights:
Release Velocity: Throughout the year, we’ve introduced nearly 20 releases, each bringing new features and improvements to the platform, demonstrating our commitment to continuous innovation.
Marking 1.0 Release: The launch of OpenMetadata 1.0 earlier this year marked a significant milestone, solidifying the platform's stability and maturity and setting a solid foundation for future developments.
New Connectors: Your support enabled us to add over 20 new connectors, increasing our total to more than 70.
Revamped UI/UX: Our 1.1 release featured a major UI/UX overhaul, driven by community feedback. The enhancements have made the platform more intuitive and user-friendly, significantly improving the user experience.
Glossary: We've introduced innovative changes in how Glossaries are utilized, including features like bulk import/export, approval workflows, and enhanced styling, all aimed at making metadata governance more efficient.
Best in class Lineage: In collaboration with SQLFluff, we've made significant strides in automated lineage capabilities. Your contributions have been invaluable in evolving this feature, making it more robust and accurate.
Data Quality: Our unique integration of Data Quality directly within the metadata platform sets OpenMetadata apart. The platform's no-code capabilities for creating and deploying data quality tests, collecting results, and setting alerts offer a comprehensive approach that many larger organizations have adopted to streamline their data quality processes.

Spreading the Word: We encourage all community members to share their experiences and knowledge about OpenMetadata. By spreading the word, you help us reach new audiences, attract more contributors, and grow our community further.
Your dedication and contributions are the heart of our success. As we evolve, your ongoing support and participation will remain crucial for our innovation and leadership in the Discovery, Governance, and Data Quality.

It would not be possible without the tremendous effort of @stloyd 🙏
The most significant changes:
- removed transformers replaced by expressions
- replaced parquet extractor with flow parquet implementation
- simplified all extractors output (no need to unpack rows anymore)
- run all examples through from a single script
- simplified casting rows to string
- reduced number of dependencies
