@rotaryd9213 concluded a successful Presidents' Retreat in Gulu City, bringing together Rotary Club Presidents and district leaders to reflect on achievements from the first 100 days of the Rotary year and renew their commitment to delivering greater impact in the months ahead.
Hosted by District Governor @dgrotaryd9213, the retreat served as both a celebration of progress made and a rallying call for club leaders to accelerate action towards the district's ambitious goals.
Addressing the Presidents, DG Obai acknowledged the challenges of leadership and thanked them for their unwavering dedication to service.
"When this Rotary year comes to an end, what will truly matter is not what we accumulated, but whose lives are different because we served. It is the member who found a reason to stay, the community that found hope, and the club that grew stronger because we refused to give up on one another.”
The Presidents reaffirmed a simple but powerful promise: 'Governor, you will never walk alone.'
The retreat renewed focus on District 9213's strategic priorities for the 2026-27 Rotary year, including;
1. Growing membership
2. Strengthening service impact and expanding Rotary's reach across Uganda.
3. Increasing support to The Rotary Foundation
4. Strengthening the Enhancing Road safety Initiative.
DG Obai challenged leaders to remain focused on the purpose behind their work.
As D9213 enters the second quarter of the Rotary year, club leaders recommitted themselves to increasing community impact through sustainable service projects.
The first 100 days demonstrated what is possible when Rotarians work together. The next 100 days present an opportunity to build on that momentum and Create Lasting Impact through service.

Sometimes, the simplest things can stand between a girl and the life she dreams of.
For many girls, menstruation still means embarrassment, silence and missed school days. That is why The Dignity Kit Project project matters most . It is about giving a girl the confidence to stay in school and giving a woman the skills to build a livelihood. means so much to me.
While at Nakivubo Blue Primary School in Kisenyi, with @RCkasangati we launched the USD 92,484 project to reach approximately 500 girls and vulnerable women in Mengo-Kisenyi and Bwera, Kasese.
Through menstrual health education, reusable sanitary pad production and vocational skills, we are working to ensure that menstruation does not limit a girl’s education or a woman’s opportunity to earn a livelihood.
I asked a simple question, if we can make other essential health products freely available, why should sanitary pads remain out of reach for so many girls and women?
We must be able to talk about menstrual health openly, without shame.
When knowledge replaces shame and skills create opportunity, dignity becomes lasting community impact.

Some mornings, @Rotary reminds you why the little things matter.
While at Komamboga Health Centre III, @RcKisaasiKyanja stood alongside families, helping to protect more than 200 babies through immunisation and supporting over 200 expectant mothers with Mama Kits for safer, more dignified motherhood.
Behind every number is a mother hoping for a safe delivery, and a child whose future is just beginning.
That is the beauty of service. Sometimes, saving the future starts with protecting one little life today.

As a Puplic Health Practitioner, I have seen the worry in a mother’s eyes when care is far away, and the relief when that care is finally within reach.
While at the @UgandaMediaCent, I joined @KampalaSouth as they marked 14 years of bringing healthcare closer to rural communities, especially the people of Kikandwa.
From maternity wards and immunisation to ultrasound, water and power, five health facilities have become places where mothers can deliver safely, children can receive care, and families can find hope closer to home.
My heartfelt gratitude to every Rotarian and partner who has sustained this journey. This is how Rotary changes lives, one community at a time.

Welcome October!
This month, @Rotary puts Community Economic Empowerment at the heart of our service, reminding us that Creating Lasting Change begins when people have the opportunity to build, earn and lead.
Across communities, Rotary clubs and partners are helping people build skills, livelihoods, enterprises and economic resilience by creating opportunities for individuals, strengthen community capacity to turn ideas into action and shape their own futures.
When people are empowered, families become stronger, communities become more resilient and possibilities become realities.
