Is Chuck Schumer exciting? No. Does he take risks? Of course not. But do his experience and acumen make him EXACTLY the man democrats need to most effectively wield this unprecedented mandate? Jesus christ, no

Bernie is on the cusp of seeing a political project that he has built up for over 40 years fulfilled. He’ll be damned if he doesn’t see it through.

I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.

This man has done more to turn this country around than anyone.

Abdul El-Sayed won on Medicare for All. Troy Jackson won on Medicare for All. James Talarico supported a public option he labeled "Medicare for Y'all." Everyone in the party should back healthcare for all. It wins everywhere and more importantly it is the right thing to do.

Cry more. You got women killed by confirming Kavanaugh, you evil bitch.
Senator Susan Collins to The New York Times after losing re-election:
“Everybody ignores the fact that I voted to convict him in the second impeachment trial,” Ms. Collins said.
“What bigger break could there be? It is never enough. I want results and they want angry rhetoric.”

Nós estamos focados no 1% errado.

You don't reach across the aisle to greet people who sold Alligator Alcatraz merchandise, you reach across the aisle to hand them a subpoena.
That year I watched he eviscerations of him as like hype videos headed into high-stakes meetings with known assholes.

Bernie Sanders:
We must enact a 5% wealth tax on billionaires so that we can provide every working-class family in the country, a family of four, with a $12,000 direct payment.
In other words, if you're a working-class family of four, that's $3,000 for every man, woman, and child. Twelve thousand bucks.
Furthermore, with that tax on billionaires, we can build 7 million units of low-income and affordable housing, we can make public colleges and universities tuition-free, and we can provide universal free child care for 13 million children.
That is what a wealth tax on billionaires can do.

Some things you guys could have done:
- not vote to confirm the justices who overturned Roe v Wade
- not vote to advance legislation cutting Mainers’ health care so Elon Musk could get a tax break
- not vote for the Iran War FIVE TIMES
"I don't know what we could have done," Susan Collins' longtime campaign manager Steve Abbott told @WSJ. "She's been a very good senator. She's done very well for her state. She's done very well for the country, too. But that's not what this... was about."

Wait, let me make sure I've got this right. NYC Mayor Mamdani taxed wealthy people on second homes they don't live in, the city's budget got balanced, the rich are still rich, and ordinary New Yorkers didn't get hit with a broad tax increase? That's really all it took?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
NYC FY2027 budget balance used agency savings, $4B+ state aid/authorizations (incl. pension restructuring saving $1.64B), and $500M projected from pied-à-terre tax on luxury second homes—not primarily that tax.

My brother told me last night that he thought he was a conservative but his new position is, "capitalism is awesome and has made America incredibly rich, so we can and should have things like Medicare for all."
And then he said that he and my dad send each other reels of Abdul El Sayed.

That is forever her legacy. Good riddance.

One of my worst Maine memories is protesting kavanaughs appointment outside Collins office & the complete futility of it & the total contempt staffers showed & the many many many awful rape stories I heard that day from crying women in the rain. Fuck Susan Collins. Forever.
Troy Jackson didn't defeat Susan Collins -- Susan Collins' Kavanaugh vote defeated Susan Collins. Jackson just happened to be there.

If you’re a new Democratic US Representative or Senator you have an immediate job:
Get your constituent services up and running. There are a ton of you in deep red territory and that’s the only way to survive 2028. You entrench yourself as deep into your community as possible
