What is the status of the Palestinian citizens in Israel? Separate and Unequal.
Here is a list of resources that illustrates their inferior status in a regime of Jewish supremacy: 🧵 1/n

Hello @annabotting,
You are the @SkyNews presenter here.
Did you challenge @adamboultonTABB when he accused Sally Rooney of taking an 'anti-Jewish' stance?
If not, why not?

This is, as ever, so eloquently put by @AlnaouqA
I urge everyone to watch.
"For me as a Palestinian, Zionism is racism. Zionism is genocidal. Zionism is sociopathic. Zionism is all about ethnic cleansing for a group of people at the expense of another. If I were not Palestinian, if I just happened to be a Jewish person, I would have lived with all my rights granted. No one would have questioned me, no one would have come after my land, my country, to kill us. So if that is not racism, then what is? Ever since I came to the UK, I've been hearing some bizarre ideas: 'Zionism means different things to different people'. Zionism means only one thing. And it means one thing to the people that it was manifested at. Zionism means genocide and death."

Hello @adamboultonTABB,
Please explain why you think Sally Rooney is taking an 'anti-Jewish' stance.

It's hard to grapple with the evil that commits these crimes against Gaza's defenseless civilians, day after day, year after year, with unwavering support from the world's most powerful.

This is very important
If you haven’t yet seen this, it’s worth taking a look at this detailed examination of the UK Govt’s response to Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. One key revelation is when aid workers including British nationals were killed in an Israeli strike on a World Central Kitchen convoy. Two days later, the then UK Foreign Sec David Cameron signed off on the latest arms export approval to Israel. That same day he announced an urgent and “transparent” investigation into the attack. channel4.com/programmes/brit…

Israel has no right to exist. That’s the position in international law. It has nothing to do with hatred of Israel or antisemitism.
In fact, no state – none – has a “right” to exist, including states busy extolling their democratic credentials.
If the UK had a “right” to exist, for example, it would mean that Scotland could not be allowed to vote for independence. Why? Because such a vote would break up the UK. It would be a violation of the UK’s supposed “right” to exist as the UK.
Which is precisely why the UK has no “right” to exist.
Peoples have a right to exist. When that right is abused, it invariably involves very serious violations of international law – often through crimes such as apartheid, ethnic cleansing or genocide.
States, by contrast, don’t have a “right” to exist. They simply do exist as a matter of fact – until they suddenly don’t. Like apartheid South Africa. Like Rhodesia. Like Czechoslovakia. Like Yugoslavia. Like Nazi Germany.
This is so obvious it should not even need stating.
Were states to have a “right” to exist, completely arbitrary factors such as their borders, demographic make-up and political institutions would be sacrosanct. Inviolable. It would be impossible for minorities to secede, for territories to be transferred, for apartheid structures to be overturned . Any such change would be a transgression of the state’s “right to exist” as it is.
And yet every single journalist employed by an establishment media outlet is suddenly playing dumb on this most elementary of issues. They’ve all suddenly had a collective lobotomy. They insist Israel must be the exception to the rule that no state has a “right” to exist.
Watch, for example, the BBC’s Nick Robinson berating Green party leader Zack Polanski for refusing to affirm Israel’s “right to exist”. Polanksi correctly argues instead that Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in equality.
Why all this incendiary stupidity from our supposedly brightest and best journalists?
Find the answer in my latest article No state has a ‘right’ to exist – least of all an apartheid, genocidal state like Israel. A link to the full article is in the reply post ⬇️

Because it's a question asked in bad faith about a state that refuses to declare its borders, defines itself in ethnic terms like apartheid South Africa, and is ethnic cleansing and slaughtering the native Palestinian population.
Oh, and then there's the small matter of international law making clear that only peoples, not states, have a "right to exist".

When was the last time that any of presenters on @BBCr4today, or indeed anywhere @BBCNews, made an equally passionate stand for the right to a safe home for Palestinians after their dispossession and genocide? I can't remember one of them risking their job to call for justice
"Do you think that the state of Israel, as a safe home for Jews after the Holocaust and after the pogroms, has a right to exist?"
@bbcnickrobinson repeatedly asks Green Party leader Zack Polanski.

In June, we had the pleasure of chatting with Peter Oborne on Zoom about an article he was planning to write to mark our 25th anniversary. Oborne has worked as political editor of the Spectator, as chief political commentator of The Daily Telegraph, as a journalist at the Evening Standard, as a commentator at the Express, and has made nearly 30 documentaries for Channel 4, BBC World and BBC Radio 4. One might not ordinarily expect this track record to translate as sympathy for our cause, but Oborne is a rare fish indeed. Consider, for example, that one of our first mentions of his journalism came in 2009 when he responded like this in the Daily Mail to an MPs’ expenses scandal:
‘Nobody can say any longer that our politicians are motivated by honesty, duty or patriotism. Almost to a man and woman they have been exposed as cheats and crooks whose primary motivation is lining their own pockets rather than serving Britain.
‘As a result, Parliament itself no longer looks like our greatest national institution. Instead, it has been exposed as an organised criminal conspiracy whose primary purpose is to defraud the taxpayer and serve the vested interest of a venal political class.’
Having somehow got away with that blast of honesty, a decade later, Oborne published an excoriating piece titled, ‘British journalists have become part of Johnson’s fake news machine’, commenting:
‘Papers and media organisations yearn for privileged access and favourable treatment. And they are prepared to pay a price to get it.
‘This price involves becoming a subsidiary part of the government machine. It means turning their readers and viewers into dupes.
‘This client journalism allows Downing Street to frame the story as it wants. Some allow themselves to be used as tools to smear the government’s opponents. They say goodbye to the truth.’
This was classic Oborne: blistering honesty completely unhindered by concern for personal consequences born of a fierce integrity and deeply felt compassion for the victims of greed and cruelty. The response from his rather less honourable ‘mainstream’ peers: instant, total cancellation:
‘This article marked the end of my thirty-year-long career as a writer and broadcaster in the mainstream British press and media. I had been a regular presenter on Radio 4’s The Week in Westminster for more than two decades. It ceased to use me, without explanation. I parted company on reasonably friendly terms with the Daily Mail after our disagreement.’ (Peter Oborne, ‘The Assault on Truth – Boris Johnson, Donald Trump and the Emergence of a New Moral Barbarism,’ Simon & Schuster, 2021, p.132)
Warm thanks to Peter Oborne and to Declassified UK for allowing us to republish the piece below for our annual appeal for support:

Yesterday, PM @AndyBurnham sent an A400M military plane from RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus to Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel
Nevatim is the central node through which the Gaza genocide was supplied and enacted
The A400M can carry a payload of 81,600 lbs and 116 troops
Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu is indicted by the ICC—of which Britain is a member—for war crimes and crimes against humanity
You are paying for all this
