For the love of whomever is your deity, please don't code your platform in such a way that makes someone's email address unchangeable.
Feeling pretty validated that @jmspool is bringing up some of the same concepts re: measuring UX value (especially in regards to navigating AI) in the @CenterCentre Leaders of Awesomeness weekly meeting that I discussed in my @WordCampUS talk this year: us.wordcamp.org/2026/sessionā¦
Really appreciated the Wapuu portrait studio where we had 60 minutes to be creative with a canvas and acrylic paint. Of course, I had to paint the one thing I know how to do. #wcus
Are any of the @WordCampUS sponsors giving away a blanket as swag? I brought layers but I'm pretty sure the AC is turned up to eleven š„¶ #wcus
I occasionally talk to agents for brainstorming purposes (to bounce thoughts off of when I don't have a human available for endless riffing) but I'm finding that reading the "AI-ese" responses makes me want to toss my computer out the window. How can I make it talk like a person?
A weird reason I'm sad that social networks were decimated by people's feeds deteriorating into algorithmic slop & polarization is bc my dad died unexpectedly two weeks ago, & if I had the social networks of 10 yrs ago I could've actually reached out to my community who knew him.
Today I quit Chrome and accidentally didn't select the "reopen all tabs when logging back in" option, and now I don't even know who I am anymore.
I miss the social media of a decade ago when we could just post our random thoughts about things and then talk to each other about them. Nowadays everything needs to be a "take" or an "insight" or an "angle" or "strategic" or "hustling" or "influencing" or some shit. It sucks.

If you attended the Wednesday morning showcase session about FSE and want to learn more about a similar topic, I'll be going into detail about some of the practical ways to understand and curate editor options for content creators on Thursday afternoon! #wcus
While baby is staying at home to brush up on his coding skills, I'm en route to Portland to give a talk on Building Experiences this Thursday afternoon at WordCamp US! Come find me if you want to chat about design systems, UX... or share baby pictures (fur babies count) #WCUS

If WordPress wants to grow to new users, itās very next step needs to be to build better onboarding. Full stop.

Been a while since I've been on an airplane, but this @Press__Conf trip makes me nostalgic for when I flew to conferences 1-2x a month pre-pandemic. I enjoyed that life (though it wore me out), but I'm content with the life I have now (though it also wears me out š
) #pressconf
Arriving at @Press__Conf in the morning and looking forward to connecting with everyone again! Browsing the attendee list has me feeling really excited and nostalgic. Find me or @jessigurr if you want to have a chat about @Some_Conf as well.
Baby photo for the algorithm tax:
Just booked my tickets, flight, and lodging for @Press__Conf! My first solo trip since the kiddo and my first #WordPress event since @WordCampMpls this summer. Really looking forward to seeing all the folks in the community without the baggage of, you know, the "community."
The saddest thing for me is that I was so excited to design a custom baby #wapuu onesie for my new little one, but as things unfolded, I became pretty sure I never wanted to design another wapuu again

WordPress Drama Explained (and How it May Affect Your Website)
Itās weird to receive texts like āis this WordPress drama crazy or is it being blown out of proportionā.
In the 15 years of running @WPBeginner, I never thought I would have to write a blog post covering any WordPress industry drama. My focus with the blog has always been to provide high quality free WordPress tutorials.
But unfortunately, we are at a point where a lot of misinformation and fear is being spread about WordPress.
This is causing panic among some website owners, agencies, as well as people in enterprise companies.
In this post, I want to explain what this latest WordPress drama is about, who it impacts, and what you can do to protect your websites.

TLDR: No, this is NOT the end of WordPress, and your websites are safe.
Despite everything thatās going on right now, I still love WordPress, and I believe in our amazing WordPress community.
I have spent more than half of my life in the WordPress community, and I will continue to do everything in my power to support the community and our users ā¤ļø
A kind, empathetic thread worth reading
