Giving communities a stronger voice in their future is at the heart of co-operative politics.
Changes to investment rules will give local priorities greater weight, recognising how housing, transport and skills work together to improve lives.

Antisemitism is shamefully rising across the globe, and it's going to take all of us to tackle it.
Yesterday I met leaders from the J7 to discuss this unique hatred targeting Jewish communities and to learn from each other's experiences and approaches.
By listening, learning and sharing what works, we can strengthen our response to antisemitism and help ensure Jewish people in our communities can live safely and confidently.

Today marks three years since October 7th 2023 - the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
On that day, Hamas terrorists unleashed a wave of barbaric violence, murdering more than 1,200 innocent men, women and children, and taking 251 people hostage.
We remember all those murdered.
May their memory be a blessing.

As Yom Kippur begins tonight, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, we extend our wishes for a meaningful and easy fast to all observing.
May this day be filled with reflection and atonement.
G’mar Chatima Tova, may you be sealed in the Book of Life!

A poignant tribute at Buckingham Palace to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
We remember those who lost their lives, and those who showed extraordinary courage in the face of terror.
We will never forget them, and we will always stand with our American friends.
Great trip to @LEAPandInnovate in Riyadh with Labour colleagues @ChrisWebbMP @ParmjitDhanda & @andyfenner81. We were on stage taking about business opportunities, AI & governance. Great to meet with Saudi Police, the British Embassy & the Misk Foundation.

Whilst we’re busy getting ready for @WYSTC in Bilbao our other work continues. Our DG Andy Fenner is in Saudi Arabia at @miskcity_ksa with @ChrisWebbMP & @markdeanbrown from @UniLeiden hearing how Misk is bringing connecting young people & creating opportunities.

Moderated a panel on AI & Smart Borders at @LEAPandInnovate in Riyadh. AI has stopped being a chatbot & started booking on our behalf. But it’s only worth building if it brings more people together.

There’s less than two days to vote in Labour’s NEC elections. 🗳️
Every member of the party should have received a ballot, but fear not if you can’t find yours.
Just use the link below and type in the email you normally receive your emails from the Labour Party it should generate a new email.
Delighted to be rerunning as part of the @labtowin team: @angela4LME, @CampaignJane.
Also backing @elsieortong for Youth Rep, as well as the brilliant @clairekholland and Peter Wheeler for the Councillor reps.

Ballots close on 27 August for Labour’s NEC elections.
I am over the moon to have received the support from 98 CLPs. Now every Labour Party member gets a vote.
Voting is very simple and takes two minutes. Search ‘Labour Party Elections’ (check your junk folder) and vote for the @labtowin team.

🚨Reminder🚨 Voting in the Labour NEC elections couldn’t be easier.
If you’re a Labour Party member, search “Labour Party Elections” in your inbox, and check your junk folder too.
These elections use a Single Transferable Vote (STV) system, so your preferences, and the order in which you rank candidates, really matter.
For example, in London, here are the @labtowin recommendations 👇
You can see the recommendation for every region on this link

Water off a duck’s back.
My message to every single young person who worries about encountering this sort of thing in their lives and careers is simple: we are stronger, they are weaker, and the future is brighter.
"Give your head a wobble, mate."
@HenryRiley1 challenges caller John, who says Wes Streeting won’t be taken seriously as Defence Secretary because of his "camp" way of speaking.
If you’re a @UKLabour member please vote in the NEC elections. You have 4 votes, make sure one of them is for @AbdiDuale_ 🗳️
