i have never once in my life been able to crack actual creative productivity by forcing myself to do the work it has always come from brief periods of getting inspired by something, and then letting myself get into the right headspace to actually do the work, usually after a while of being 'bored' i realized this 2 years ago, that if work feels like a task that i HAVE to do, then i'll always feel the friction standing between me and productivity i truly believe focus and creativity come from REMOVING distractions, so instead of trying to find ways to hijack ur mind, find out what's consuming ur brain power and take care of it first this is why i like time-blocking so much, taking out 4-5 hours of my day, with buffer time built in-between it's like a ritual, sit down to work, have absolutely nothing i'm looking forward to for the next couple of hours, watch a few videos / edits, and then start off with a state of mind that is ready to make some creative decisions

what monitor are u guys using with ur macbook? i previously had an ultrawide that i ditchedd simply because it looked nowhere near as sharp and bright as my mac open to suggestions

maybe i have unrealistic standards for AI video / image generation but i CANNOT approve a clip unless I myself have trouble distinguishing it as an AI or real clip anything under that standard gets labeled as slop surely there's a better + more cost effective way to do this?

simplest workflow for AI image/video generation models that i've found is to simply spend more time finding EXACT references to what you're looking to make makes everything so much easier compared to reverse engineering prompt from an idea that you have in ur head and then getting said prompt written by an LLM and then testing it out just for the final generation to miss a lot of the intricate details find exact reference for the type of media u want to generate -> use it as reference -> generate -> fix latest generation with only positive prompting

i am such a sucker for optimization in every aspect of my life its insane i just find it so much fun

"i want to charge over $1,000 per video" good. but that number comes with a standard - quality check before sending - consistent style start to finish - hit the deadline u actually gave, not the one u wish u gave - keep client updated enough so they don't have to chase u and the list goes on and on... point is, you have to STOP being someone who needs managing that's the entire gap. big boy rates go to editors who don't wait to be told what to do next, because nobody pays premium to babysit

NOBODY will treat you as good as we will if you can actually get things done on time and can handle & execute feedback properly if editing is not your full-time thing, or you can't commit to one of our projects when we need you to, then don't even bother applying

do people that inherently see themselves as losers ever change? why is it so hard for them to break their limiting beliefs and actually go do something they're proud to do? have seen it time and time again while trying to put people on, despite having all the proof infront of them they're just very unlikely to act in accordance with who they WANT to be, and would rather keep acting like the person they're comfortable being u really cannot change urself if u can't even fathom urself succeeding inside ur own mind

the one skill that will take u very far in this line of work is getting things done when you said you would too many editors lack this and then wonder why they can't go full-time if you miss a deadline that YOU set yourself, it immediately makes you lose credibility in the client's eyes clients pay you to make their lives easier, if they have to constantly supervise you just to get work done on time then you really do not deserve to be getting paid as much as you think you do
