19. CEO @lumeriaskin ☀️ (YCS26) Your skin has a story. I'm building the tech to finally read it.

Everyone owns skincare products, but nobody knows what's actually working. Today, @theantheaguo and I launch @lumeriaskin (YC S26) to end that. The Lumoscope is a multispectral camera that clips onto your phone and scans your skin at home with the same light used in clinics, so you see what a mirror can't: a breakout days before it surfaces, and sun damage years before it shows. Every scan is scored on hydration, redness, texture, and sebum, and it compounds into a record of your own skin. Lumi reads that history, connects flare-ups to causes you'd never suspect, and matches products to YOUR data, instead of a population average. Preorders are officially open today at $199 only until Aug 16th. Starting today, skincare will no longer feel like guessing. ☀️

🔦 @lumeriaskin (YC S26) is building a handheld camera with a UV light that clips onto your phone so you can scan you skin, detect breakouts days before they show up in the mirror, and monitor wrinkles changing over time. Think about it like an Oura Ring for your skin. Most people stack product after product on their faces and never really understand what is working and what isn't. Lumeria scans your skin with the same kind of light used in clinics. The app tracks how your skin changes over time and gives you personalized product and habit recommendations. They sold out their first batch and did $200k in the first month, with early press from Forbes, Fitt Insider, Her Hustle, and Wellworthy. @malhalla06 and @TheAntheaGuo are both Berkeley engineers. Anthea worked on Computer Vision at Google, grew up in Shenzhen and is actively negotiating the product, fast-tracking the development process. Maryanne has already exited her first spectroscopy biotech startup at the age of 17 and has 25 million views as an influencer herself! @pioneer_fund is very excited to back these two!

Calling it now, this will be a Unicorn. No way in hell it fails. Absolutely insane.

survived @ycombinator demo day by running a skincare competition at our booth we scanned over 150+ investors only to tell most of them their skin isn’t doing great 😭 (a hot auditorium and open bar means bad news for dehydrated skin and redness!) woke up to an inbox filled with hundreds of investor emails. turns out that’s how you get inbound 🙂‍↕️

It's YC S26 Demo Day tomorrow. Some of the wildest ideas in this batch: → @Atomarine_co .... floating data centers on barges at sea, cooled by seawater, aiming to run on nuclear ships. Their logic: grids can't expand fast enough, the ocean can. → @KaraLabsAI .... diamond semiconductors. Today diamond sits next to the chip to cool it. Their bet: tomorrow diamond is the chip. → @ParasmaAI .... training living human brain cells to compute. The founder got here via a project teaching neurons to play Doom. → @LambLabs .... hard-coding an entire AI model directly into silicon. Claiming 20,000+ tokens/sec in some configs. → @Locke .... AI for navigating government. Zero to ~$800K ARR in eight weeks, reportedly on track for $1M by Demo Day. → Axelrod .... AI-run hotels whose agents click through the ancient front-desk software the way a human would. Lack of APIs in hotels is the moat. → @Omantahealth .... a personal scientific R&D team for one patient. Started in oncology, chasing individualized treatment. → @Exosat_ .... a politically neutral, sovereign satellite network. The founder joined YC on the logic that if it lifted his odds of building a Starlink-scale company by even 7%, the equity was worth it. → @lumeriaskin .... at-home skin imaging. $100K+ in revenue in under 48 hours Two-person teams, most of them, pointing AI at tangible stuff - chips, oceans, satellites, biology. Say what you want about YC. This is not a batch of chatbot wrappers.

last week, @theantheaguo and I launched our YC startup @lumeriaskin, earned 2m+ views across platforms, and sold out our first batch in <24 hours. the video took over two weeks to make and lots of heart, soul, & late nights. here's how we did it. 💛

Today, I completed a full end-to-end brand redesign of generaltranslation.com. Over two weeks, I shipped a brand design studio, animation/GIF workshop, native component library, and 12 test websites, with a lot of cat supervision and a lot of Fable tokens. This is my documentation of the journey. Here's how it went ⬇️

tomorrow, @lumeriaskin comes out of stealth and will be officially launching as part of the @ycombinator s26 batch. @theantheaguo and I are building the lumoscope: the first at-home skin camera that sees in visible, polarized, and uv light. it clips onto the phone you already own and shows what everyday photos smooth over: wrinkles, breakouts, redness and how it all changes week over week. understanding your skin should be accessible, personal, and honest. starting tomorrow, people will no longer have to guess through skincare and anyone can own their skin's story. 💛 thank you to @bosmeny and @borisjabes for believing in us.

We applied to @ycombinator 30 seconds before the deadline, had 5 major typos we couldn't edit after, and watched people on X get interviews within days while we heard nothing (thought it was joever). 1 month later, I was booking a highly overpriced, last minute flight to be in SF for <24 hours to interview with @bosmeny and @borisjabes! And now, we're more than 1 month into grinding out the S26 batch :) F26 applications are due tonight. Apply, no matter how rough the application is or how late! You never know what kind of miracles happen overnight. Attached is the 67th take of our founder video in my Berkeley dorm common room (had a resident ask why she heard the same script a million times across 4 days). Your journey can truly start anywhere :p

hi x, i'm new here 🎀 quick story: i came to america as a war refugee, separated from my dad. i couldn't even say hello in english. but I learned fast and wrote a book about my experiences at 9. my writing got published. three times. it gets more unhinged from here: at 15, i started a biotech company. it was nationally recognized, 7 times. at 16, Berkeley accepted me on a full scholarship. at 17, i scrubbed into surgery in a syrian hospital. at 18, i built a nonprofit branch to ship medical supplies back to hospitals like that one. and now, at 19: i bet everything on @Lumeria_Skin, the oura ring for skin. we're a @ycombinator company (S26). more normal stuff: >25M+ views across my UGC + lifestyle content >8+ projects with @Pfizer, @PBS + more >a $25,000 scholarship from taco bell (mm, cheesy gordita crunch) >6,667 hours playing the sims >still cannot parallel park (fatal in SF) none of this was a plan. i was scared for every single line and did it anyway. if you're waiting until you feel ready, you'll wait forever. if you’re interested in building in public, speedrunning the impossible, health tech, skincare, or consumer hardware, then come do it scared with me ^^
