I'm going to say that, as someone who has "world federalist" in my bio, I view it as a longer term goal. The international economic-power balance isn't in place for it to work yet. I also think much of the world hasn't reached the level of social-civic values it would require.

I very much like the idea of world federalism but some things make me hesitant. Like I wouldn't want it to just end up as a way for rich western countries to exert more influence over poorer countries.

If it's proportional, at this point in time, I think a lot of countries with weaker democratic institutions could thumb the scale (for the benefit of interest groups and local elites).

Institutions for international governance should continue being built out but I don't think the average citizen in the 'west' is progressive minded enough for a sustainable world federation yet. And I don't think the average citizen in the 'global south' is either, to be fair.

Okay this was wrong. I was thinking of Len Davis, who was the first on-duty officer to be sentenced to death FEDERALLY (commuted to life in 2024). There were previous police officers to be executed at the state level before him, and there is at least one ex-cop on death row now

Not that it has to be a competition, but the NOPD is probably the worst major city police department.

A retired New Orleans detective that was arrested multiple times for molesting children (found with a 12 y/o during one arrest, no charges added) basically admitted to a string of unsolved murders in the 70’s and NOPD still says he is not a suspect.

Let me make something clear: is this the best movie ever? No. Is this a great movie? No. Is this even a good movie? I don’t think so. But did I enjoy it, outside of my better judgement? Nah not really.
