Grok Bot is the shit!
I'll be downgrading my OpenAI subscription to redirect funds towards Grok.
Also, it looks like my adventure with OpenClaw will end before it fully started.
Plot twist: the dev was using vim to write prompts 😄

I had a similar reaction. Everyone should applaud performance improvements, but gauge against the “speed of light”, not just a sloppy competitor. If you are measuring in seconds, you may have already anchored yourself incorrectly.
Structure the UI so you can put locally cached media up just a few vblanks after the process launches.
Structure the server so it can return everything necessary for the dynamic UI in one single query that was kicked off in parallel with the Gfx API initialization, branching to a modern transport protocol for large media files.
You should be able to double click on the launcher and have it responsive before your muscle memory can slam the pointer to a location to click on.
This is hilarious and awesome.
Awesome because this has annoyed millions of peoples for years.
Hilarious because WHY DOES IT TAKE 5 SECONDS TO SHOW A MENU OF GAMES?!
Steam takes 10 SECONDS?!
Do you realize how much time that is for a CPU with a modern internet connection? Am I crazy!? What am I missing?
I attended an interesting talk by @SandorDargo at CppCon - trying to console us all and explain (remind?) us what our job is now, when actual code writing is done by LLMs. (You can hear it at @meetingcpp this year as well)
Here's another take on that: slashhash.ai/articles/dr-str…
And this is why I live in a 2nd floor apartment and got my tubes sniped 😅
The parents will empathize here. My wife is out of town (but I would've been helping either way).
Last night at 10 PM my 3yo started screaming because she threw up. Full clothes, sheet replace, calm kid down, full bed cycle.
At the same time, our sump pump alarm goes off. Totally unrelated but horrifyingly loud and a pretty big home emergency.
I ended up having daughter chill on the couch for a second while I wrapped the alarm in duct tape to block the noise until I could diagnose later.
I couldn't just flip the breaker because that breaker is connected ONLY the kids room AC and we have a heat wave.
Once I got my kid down, started calling emergency plumbers because this happened once before and very shortly after raw sewage started coming up out of the ground. Luckily got it figured before that this time.
Ended up getting to bed at 1 AM. Have to wake up at 6 AM because that's when 5 month old gets up. Just another day on the wild rollercoaster of parenting with a fun dose of homeownership.
"SSSI"? In Kerbal we called it "contract areas"
For those here at #IAC2026, my panel on lunar sites of special scientific interest (SSSI) is today at 11:30am in D3. What are SSSIs, how can we protect/preserve and really capitalise on the scientific opportunities the Moon offers... bit.ly/4zg94EY

room temperature superconductors are great too, but how bout CHEAP RAM AND GPUS. Discover that first.

A junior dev asked the staff engineer: "How do I know if the AI's code is correct?"
The staff engineer replied: "How do you know if yours is?"
The junior dev was enlightened. Prod went down.
Maybe Sol is only marginally better than Terra, but at least is 10x more expensive.
Replying to @gdb
Our goal is to provide the best price for any level of target performance, and to provide the highest possible performance ceiling.
Jave you trued this with JH, @epyoncf ? Could be an interesting experiment.

Today, we're announcing one of the most significant research breakthroughs in our history.
Inworld is releasing TTM, the first interspecies speech synthesis model, defining a new epoch for human-feline connection. In celebration of @MistralAI's release of Le Chaton Fat. Congrats @arthurmensch, @tlacroix6, and @GuillaumeLample.
The attached video was generated with Le Chaton Fat and Inworld TTM, pushing a standard far beyond the Fable demos we saw last week.
A few stats:
-> 100/100 on MeowBench, the canonical benchmark. Every other model scored near 0.
-> Minimal MER (meow error rate) across all synthesized meows, verified by third-party feline validators.
-> Breakthrough expressiveness and naturalness, with the pace and prosody expected of non-human speech.
-> Already live in support centers, handling ~3B requests (for food) per hour.
Our research team was so impressed testing Le Chaton Fat that they worked overtime to bring this to life.
