What time is it?? Time to make history ⏱️ Six days after finishing 4th in the Fifth Avenue Mile, Drew Hunter 🇺🇸 crosses the pond to finish 11th in the World Road 5km championship in 13:14, breaking Ben True’s 13:20 mark from 2017 to set a new American record in the road 5km.

🗣️ "Very disappointed in the race and result racing a bunch of cowards." 💎 When no one went with the pacemaker in the Diamond League final, Jakob Ingebrigtsen took it upon himself to keep it honest and press from the front. Always candid, he gave us an honest assessment of his “shitty, terrible and extremely disappointed” performance today. He is set to compete in the World Ultimate Championships 1500m next week. 🎥 FULL INTERVIEW ⤵️

🔥WORLD RECORD🔥 ALISON DOS SANTOS MAKES HISTORY. The Brazilian runs a flawless race to win the #ZurichDL in a ridiculous 45.80, becoming the second man in history under 46 seconds and knocking 0.11 seconds off Karsten Warholm’s 2021 mark. Warholm finishes second in the same race 0.9 seconds back in 46.69, as the 26-year-old dos Santos improves his PB by 0.4 seconds to tear apart the record books.

Pre Proves Not All Rabbits Are Helpful 🐇 "No matter how exhilarating the outcome of a distance or middle-distance race, whenever there’s a visual reminder of the gap between how fast people are running and how fast they at one point claimed to want to go, there’s going to be disappointment. A pacer mishandling the assignment is one thing, but pace lights blinking along 20+ feet ahead of the field is simply a bad look that screams “a week ago I wanted the world record but now I’ve got cold, spiked feet.”" 📫 Read more via @TheLapCount: thelapcount.substack.com/i/2…

The vibes are high in Boston! Such a great turnout this morning! Thanks to everyone who came out to the @CitiusMag and @brooksrunning shakeout run this morning at the Hyperion House at 400 Newbury Street! 💙

The Race Of The Weekend Could Be… A 2K? "Considering the 'off-year' vibes of 2026, this feels oddly right as a pro opener. The regular season doesn’t naturally build in a crescendo of interest as it would during an Olympic year. Therefore, rather than trying to coerce fans into getting as gassed up about World Ultimates as they would a conventional global championship, it’s in the interest of the public to lean into the unknown—and to embrace the chaos." 📫 Read more via @TheLapCount: thelapcount.substack.com/i/1…

RUN IT BACK AT MILLROSE 🔁 Double Olympic bronze medalist and indoor 3000m/5000m world record holder Grant Fisher and Olympic 1500m champion and 5000m World champion Cole Hocker are set for a highly anticipated rematch this time over the two-mile at the 2026 Millrose Games on February 1st in New York City. At the 2025 Millrose Games, Fisher outkicked Hocker in a historic 3000m duel that saw Fisher set the world record in 7:22.91. Hocker was right behind him in 7:23.14 – both under the previous world record. Now, Josh Kerr’s two-mile world record of 8:00.67, set at Millrose in 2024, is on watch. 🗣️ Hocker: “Millrose is the place to be. The performances match the atmosphere, and anytime something’s in New York, it’s going to be special. The crowd feels like it’s right on top of the track, which is great for racing. And the stadium setup just creates this amazing energy. Highly recommend going if you haven’t.” 🗣️ Fisher: “You’re guaranteed electric performances and most years you get several historic ones. It’s my favorite indoor meet: intimate, loud, historic building…. The atmosphere is unreal. Everyone shows up ready for a battle.” The full field for the race will be announced at a later date. 📰 Read more on Cole Hocker + Grant Fisher's upcoming race & some of their thoughts on 2026: citiusmag.com/articles/grant… 🎟️ Tickets for the 118th edition of the Millrose Games are now on sale.
