So many comments saying this is common for the credit card industry, I've been paying my taxes with other credit cards for years.
Just a heads up: paying taxes with your Robinhood credit card will not be eligible for cash back. $HOOD

Builders are buying the points down on the mortgage and building it into the overall price Its no difference than if you buy a $500k home and pay $40k to buydown your rate to the crazy low rates builders provide. Its not malicious, people just need to learn to pay more attention to any number except the monthly payment.
"People who borrow from a builder are more likely to overpay for their property and be underwater after they move in," per WSJ

Wait, we were stuck on a PERMANENT extension of the ACA tax credits? So stupid. A renewal seemed like a no brainer, but a permanent extension? No wonder the government has been shut so long. Do the 1 year extension and then figure out a better permanent solution when people's paychecks aren't being held hostage. (although I wouldn't mind a pause on paying Senators while they sort this out).

Pro tip- many streaming services will cut your rate temporarily if you go in to your profile and pretend you're going to cancel. Netflix doesn't- but most others do.

My wife (stay at home parent) was telling me about a neighbor where both spouses work for the same company. Wife: It would be stressful having all of your income coming from one company. Me: Not sure how that's any different than all of our income coming from one person. Wife:

I’d seen some providers saying rates were up 30% plus. The distribution by age here is wild!
Replying to @kellakelWV
For those who accused me of cherry-picking. Here are examples across a range of incomes and household sizes

Serious question: Why retire early if you're going to live paycheck to paycheck? I'm all for retiring early, but if you're really paycheck to paycheck, why not retire after 30 years of work instead of 25 years?
Tell that to Carla and Bartley from Eugene, who have a premium notice right in front of them saying they’re going to pay an unaffordable $2224 a month for health care because of your failure to act.

Nationally, the average marketplace consumer will pay $1,904 in annual premiums next year, up from $888 in 2025, according to KFF.
I don't see how Republicans survive the midterms without extending the enhanced tax credits for marketplace plans in some form. Rates are going up sharply even without the expiration of tax credits. If they aren't extended, people will blame them for the full rate increase. Lots of red states on this list.

My go to mechanic is a small business, the owner and one other guy doing the work. The owner is always so busy, he doesn't have time to bring in an additional mechanic or someone to work the phones and billing. They do good work and they're conveniently located. Pricing is reasonable, but they can be rough around the edges. Not crazy colorful, but a little short when they get overwhelmed and busy. The owner recently got divorced with joint custody of his 2 kids and it seems like he's burnt out. It seems like he's dropping the ball on the business operations and is just coasting by on existing business. Website doesn't work any more, he's tough to schedule with and doesn't have time to get much input on the service schedule. Brother in law is a financial planner than needs to hire, but is too busy running the day to day and doesn't know how to bring someone in. Cousin is a carpenter that runs his own business. Lots of decks and bathroom remodels, but its him and a helper, and its hard for him to keep his helper. He really needs to build out a team to he can bid on more work, but doesn't have time because he has to complete existing jobs so he can get paid. It seems crazy difficult for a small business to begin to scale past their first 2-3 employees. Are there any companies or services that help in that?

$UNH had to refund my employer the last 2 years because our MLR was below the allowed regulatory level. But... They keep raising rates every year.

Weakness in $AAP has to be coming from exposure to First Brands Group. 82% of First Brands Group (FBG) sales is aftermarket, meaning they sell through the Auto Retailers. - braking products 33% - vision and lighting 29% - repair and towing 24% - filtration products 14% Several of these products are sold by AAP. Probably not a big issue, most products have more than one brand available. FBG does some private label work for AAP, including Carquest Oil Filters. Bankruptcy could disrupt the supply chain on this very steady reoccurring product line. That said, at this point, its Ch 11, which leaves the business operating, while restructuring. AAP being in the middle of a turnaround is definitely more sensitive to disruption. FBG is an attractive business and I'd be shocked if it doesn't get restructured or acquired. At this point, I can't imagine this being a huge issue for AAP, but time will tell.
What is the Advance Auto Parts $AAP is going on here. Anyone seen news that would lead to this drop? Im finding nothing.

How are you, roof salesman, going to convince me that you don't have a high margin business when you're able to lower the price 20% in 3 minutes of negotiating?
