Five Suspects Aged Between 15 And 21 Arrested After 20-Year-Old E-Hailing Driver Is Robbed At Gunpoint And A Shot Is Fired In Eldorado Park Police have arrested five suspects aged between 15 and 21 following an armed robbery targeting a 20-year-old e-hailing driver in Eldorado Park Extension 7, south of Johannesburg. The arrests followed an investigation by Eldorado Park Crime Intelligence, detectives and Visible Policing (VISPOL) members. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, at approximately 11:00. The driver, who was operating a white Toyota Etios, responded to a ride request on Maine Street. A female suspect entered the front passenger seat and instructed him to wait for her brothers, after which two male suspects joined them. One of the suspects engaged the vehicle’s handbrake before the group allegedly robbed the driver of an undisclosed amount of cash, his driver’s licence, identity document and bank cards. During the robbery, a fourth suspect standing outside the vehicle fired a gunshot and demanded the driver’s cellphone, but the suspects fled without taking it. Police subsequently arrested five suspects following operational information. All five are expected to appear in court soon on charges related to armed robbery and firearm offences.
